One of my favorite restaurants in Portland! Excellent Thai food, a cute vibe, and a perfect place to catch up with a friend. Their crab fried rice is delicious!

The sauce for my food was very savory, but the prices were pretty steep. Other than that, the service today for lunch was non existent it was like we weren't even there. There were no water refills, no checking in. Overall, the experience was pretty medicore, nothing to rave about.

Disappointed every time. It’s close by so I tried it again, and I really don’t understand the hype. Even looking past the cheap / instagram-able decor and high prices, I keep hoping this will be good. But it’s not.
This last time I tried to stick with a simple curry and I felt like it was a curry la croix. Coconut milk with a dash of curry for color, the most bland vegetables. I’m genuinely not sure how you could make a curry so flavorless.
That was my last attempt.

I was provoked to stop eating to write this. Coming from the midwest where catfish was always common in fish frys, I had to try the NEW **Phat Pet catfish**. It definitely did not disappoint. Very exciting flavor, still crispy after delivery to the point of crunchy sounds. I'll be getting this again if it stays around.

Don’t let the size of this place fool you—Rukdiew Cafe may be small and unassuming, but it’s a total hidden gem and absolutely worth the hype! It has that classic hole-in-the-wall charm, but it’s highly recommended to make reservations—and after visiting, I totally get why.

The food is incredibly authentic Thai cuisine, but with fun, unexpected twists that make the dishes stand out. One of the highlights for us was the crab wontons—packed with flavor and a surprise kick of curry! Every dish we tried had that perfect balance of bold spices, freshness, and creativity.

The decor is delightfully quirky and original, with playful items hanging from the ceiling that made the whole experience feel extra special. And just when we thought it couldn’t get more fun, we spotted a cotton candy machine by the exit—yes, you can grab a puff of cotton candy on your way out!

Service was top-notch—fast, friendly, and genuinely warm. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. Bonus points for the easy street parking, which made getting there a breeze.

If you’re in Portland and looking for something authentic, flavorful, and just plain fun, Rukdiew Cafe is a must-visit. We had a blast and can’t wait to come back!

Everything I have ordered from here is phenomenal! Just make sure to try their crab rangoons, I've had nothing like them anywhere else I've eaten. They are always the highlight of the meal, so I always save one for the very end and be smart place 1 order of them for everyone who's eating. You will not want to share once you've taken the first bite.
