Might be the most authentic Thai food in town

Excellent food, but the server was rude when taking out order and when he brought out check and had paid he tried to shame us counting out loud the cash we were leaving as tip. When a tip is not an obligation if it was it would be added automatically to the check.

Love the food so much. This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. It’s super fresh and great flavor. We found them in 2020 and have continued to keep going back. We primarily do take out. But have eaten in sometimes.

Was very sad that find out their peanut sauce is made with shrimp paste. Otherwise the food i had was delicious. I have gotten tofu salad rolls with a sweet chili sauce instead of peanut sauce, pad see ew, and pad thai. Will definitely continue eating here. Staff were friendly. The cashier didn’t know which things were vegan but they clarified with another staff member to be sure.

What has happened to this poor restaurant??? have been happily coming for a couple of years. Unfortunately today, I picked up a to-go order of curry and stir fry. Upon arriving home stir-fry was half full. I called to inform them and request that at a later time I receive a replacement. and they told me I had to drive back “for them to see it”. Of course at a later hour my terminally ill husband and I were not going to do that. No more a customer I will be!

Server proactively asked about egg and fish sauce in my tofu pad se ewe, which was well prepared with chewy noodles and fresh, tender-crisp broccoli and carrots. Pad thai was delicious, too.
This is an amazing casual dining spot for authentic classic Thai dishes. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Love the papaya salad (Lao-style), larb, and pad see ew.

Seriously stellar food! Everything is delicious, you can't go wrong but my personal favorites are the pad kee mao and yellow curry. Don't be scared by the down and dirty atmosphere or Sandy Blvd, Sa Bai hangs with Portland's top tier of Thai food. Everyone there is incredibly kind too! veg/vegan friendly
If you live in East County and are bummed out by all the mediocre Thai food in Gresham, do yourself a favor and drive just a little bit farther. It will make your night and you'll be thinking about it tomorrow. Sa Bai Thai forever!
