Loved the vibe. Loved the decor. Bartender was kind. Drinks were good. For a small place they really utilize the space really well so there's plenty of room and places to sit.

Came here on a weekday after work when it was mildly busy. Got a seat at the bar and was completely ignored to the point that it felt purposeful, as the bartender was too “cool” and busy talking to friends. Maybe he didn’t want to serve me because I didn’t fit the vibe since I was wearing my tradesmen clothes and he made an assumption about my politics. I don’t know. However I waited 5 minutes then left to go across the street where I was immediately served.

Perhaps I just have ptsd from working as a barback and bartender for 5 years in Chicago at a very well renowned craft cocktail/jazz club/art gallery, but if I didn’t greet clients and have a glass of water and menu in front of them within a minute I would be let go. To me the attitude here really felt unprofessional and there is too many other quality bars on every block to waste my time here.

Great atmosphere and tunes though.

The bar has a unique vibe and likely the reason most people visit. The menu is well curated and adds to the energy around "sad valley". However, if you pay attention to details, you'll notice the discrepancy in prices for a cheeseburger w/fries vs ordering them separate ($16 vs $9+$6). Word to the wise- save the $7 or $6 and do without the fries, they were sub-par. The makeover the bar received appears great under the mood lighting, but at its core it could be another diner.

I came here for my spouse's birthday. The bar crew were super on top of coordinating the birthday cake I had brought in the afternoon prior and were super discreet about it, brought it with ice cream and made sure that would be fine before doing it. they were really great with the service, the food was A-MA-ZING. And the vibes from the decoration to the music to the bar tenders are unmatched.

The faith healer was delicious. I paired it with a blackberry cider. As for Sad Valley, it was my first time there. Very interesting decor especially what’s hanging from the ceiling.

This place is awesome. Only been a few times now but a stellar experience every time. All of their sides are out of this world (I think I'd get their onion rings over Tulip Shops across the street!), TRY THE FRITTERS!! Service is excellent and the atmosphere is so fun and unique. Love how they play old funky movies to enjoy if youre alone. Would be so fun for any party!!

I've been there twice and the service and food have been exceptional both times. I had the chicken sandwich with Swiss and avocado and my buddy had the pasta with chicken and bacon options...both were awesome.

The perfect bar if you’re looking to go to a disco funeral set in the 1980’s. Decor and ambiance were extremely committed to the bit. Good drinks - love the devils bargain - a mini high life and shot for $8 is definitely a deal. The burger was nice - lots of bun and arugula compared to other ratios, but still tasted good. We sat inside, but they have some outdoor seating as well. Bartender was nice and helpful.

My truck broke down outside here and they were so friendly and made sure I was okay, came back after I got towed and drinks were fantastic and reasonably priced. Love the vibe here. Can’t speak to the food (yet) but will be back for sure might be the new neighborhood spot

This place definitely had a touch of cool to it. Lots of middle-aged daddies living their best lives. The cocktails were a bit underwhelming; most of them were classic cocktails with a specific cool syrup added to it, which made me feel like they needed to step it up a bit and be more creative. Had a great time, though, and if you're in the area, I'd say this place brings some specific vibes that some people are looking for.
