I was unsuspecting of how much I would love this place as a late night fix, but their chicken tenders are next level.

This place is just fun. They had karaoke the night we went. It was walking distance for us so we enjoyed some libations and singing. Fun crowd.

I cannot rave about this spot enough!

It is without a doubt one of the best Portland spots I have hung out in. Great neighborhood bar with an impeccably maximalist interior and just totally wonderful employees all around.

Everyone has a great sense of style and massive vibes.

The drinks are glorious! Highly recommend getting a blue velvet and I also love the frozen cocktails on a hot day.

Cannot encourage you enough to get the sweet potato fritters! They are to die for with chimichurri and garlic aioli and I could eat several orders.

Came here with friends who moved to the area and I wish I had a bar like this back home!

It helps that the neighborhood has a lot of lil fun things nearby. If you're so inclined, there is a game shop just steps away that has MTG so you can rip packs, while you have amazing drinks and food.

There are also games, fantastic music playing, a TV playing some of the best 80s movies both times we went, and they even have a working lovemeter.

It's kitschy and fun and I will be back the next time I fly up to visit my friends. This is the perfect neighborhood spot to just relax and hang out!

I know, nobody is perfect BUT our experience was perfect in every way. From our greeting at the bar as we arrived to our exit. The burger and fries were perfect as was the beer on tap. If we had not stopped at another place earlier for Burger Week, we would have stayed longer and drank more. Sad Valley is our new favorite place in the neighborhood. Such an original & creative theme for a bar. Love the decor, the original art is spot on. You either get it or you don't. Sadly I did not have a fabulous cocktail, but looking forward to it on my return.

Yummy food! Tasty drinks! Ridiculous and quirky vibes! It's all anyone could ever want. There's an open casket hanging from the ceiling with a disco ball popping out of it...and that's just to start. Bartenders were super friendly, but not too flirty. This place is SUCH A VIBE!!! My chicken sando was good and the drinks were even better, if you're into the sweet side of things. Even though this place was super busy, the bartender was swift and kind and everyone got their drinks quickly. Order at the bar!!

Loved the vibe. Loved the decor. Bartender was kind. Drinks were good. For a small place they really utilize the space really well so there's plenty of room and places to sit.

Came here on a weekday after work when it was mildly busy. Got a seat at the bar and was completely ignored to the point that it felt purposeful, as the bartender was too “cool” and busy talking to friends. Maybe he didn’t want to serve me because I didn’t fit the vibe since I was wearing my tradesmen clothes and he made an assumption about my politics. I don’t know. However I waited 5 minutes then left to go across the street where I was immediately served.

Perhaps I just have ptsd from working as a barback and bartender for 5 years in Chicago at a very well renowned craft cocktail/jazz club/art gallery, but if I didn’t greet clients and have a glass of water and menu in front of them within a minute I would be let go. To me the attitude here really felt unprofessional and there is too many other quality bars on every block to waste my time here.

Great atmosphere and tunes though.
