Sam's Cafe at OHSU

1.5oz of liquid in my cup. They insisted that it was a triple espresso. I double checked. They still insisted. This place is trash.

A batista came over to my table with a double shot of espresso, which was twice as much as was in my previous drink, and gave it to me.
It looks like it wasn't a triple shot after all.

Maybe they aren't trash... but the experience certainly was odd.

Sam's Cafe is located in the heart of the OHSU hospital on the first floor of Sam Jackson Pavillion. Thew brew local favorite, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, beans for their drip coffee and espresso and they have Stumptown cold brew nitro on tap.This place has a unique feel with a duality of energies in the atmosphere. The hustle, bustle, and confidence of medical professionals in their scrubs and professional attire as they snag a much-needed espresso boost is countered by the slower energy of patients and guests who are content to merely sit and sip, enjoying a brief escape from whatever brought them to the hospital campus. Too much poetry for a coffee shop review? Maybe. ?I came in looking for a breakfast sandwich before jumping back into my commute... They don't serve those. So I opted, instead for a toasted jalapeño and cheese bagel with cream cheese and a hot white mocha. Delicious! My only complaint was that they left a bit of extra room for whipped cream, which I should have forgone for two more ounces of mocha!Lots of snacks are available. The staff is friendly and efficient.Sam's Cafe is a great option if you need good coffee and you're at the OHSU campus.

I really love Sams Cafe. The staff know my name they know all of the drinks I order they are so very friendly and the drinks are made wonderfully. As an OHSU employee I love coming here.

When I'm in Portland and I can't go to Dutch I go to Sam's Cafe at the top of the hill

Best place.on the hill for a cuppa - they use Stumptown coffee beans! Also some food options available, bit I haven't tried. The team is always friendly and warm. And fast!

Sam's Cafe is the best coffee on the OHSU campus, but only the second best croissants (the best are at Summit Cafe and Summit also has good views). Sam's is highly recommended for coffee-on-the-go or brief meetings. It gets busy in the morning, but the staff is also very efficient.

This is the only coffee shop within OHSU, where I feel the experience is void of any human emotion. I feel a more efficient flow for customers and staff would greatly improved the atmosphere and service.

Good Chocolate Chip Muffins

Great services, fast and friendly. I wish they had complementary soda water to wash my espresso.
