A great place to unwind with family and have a cocktail.

Wonderfully located downtown. The staff and prices are great.

I usually really enjoy going to scandals! But Friday night, the bartender had a rude attitude from the start when we first ordered drinks. Then, less than an hour later (I was sober) I fell coming in the door and broke my ankle. One of the staff members was very kind and offered ice and helped me off the floor into a chair. The same bartender from before, however, came over and told us we needed to leave. I could not walk and was waiting to be picked up and driven to the ER. He acted like I was a nuisance, when we were just sitting at a table waiting for my ride. I hope he gets some much needed training on how to treat people, because it was really disheartening.

Great place to grab a beer, watch the game.

It's just not enough to be a gay bar that used to be really good. The staff are xenophobic and arrogant! Just go to the "Eagle" instead...

Bad place. Bouncer incredibly arrogant and extremely unfriendly! It used to be a great shop, but now it's better to stay away. Too bad!

Best neighborhood gay bar in all of Portland! Love the bartenders here so much, they will see me walking down the street and will start making my drink before I'm ever even through the door. It's things like that that keep me coming back 🙌😁🙌

Went on a Friday night and was ok but lacks atmosphere. Much better bars in Pearl District, which have better music, friendlier staff and vibe…

Was passing again several days later and thought we’d sit outside for a drink in the sunshine but the bar tender wouldn’t accept our UK licences (despite accepting the 1st time). So if from overseas don’t bother unless you want to take your passport.

I found this place by accident and enjoyed the slot machines that they have. However, I did cash out a ticket and realized that the bartender shorted me $10 from my winnings. By the time I realized this I decided to let it go. Now I know to always have them count it back in front of me because either it was a mistake or it was intentional. Just a warning for those who cash out tickets from the slot machines and this establishment.

The awful straight guy they have there working is rude and has no idea on how to tend bar. He will talk down to you and think he's a god send when asking for the same drink you've ordered before. As a bartender myself, I know the drinks of almost everyone, esp when it's slow(which it was).

A masked man wielding bear mace jumped out of a car and tried to mug me right as I left this bar. I was pursued by this lunatic all the way back into Scandal's. The masked psycho ENTERED the bar in pursuit, but gave up when he encountered more people. I sprinted to safety behind the bar and barricaded myself in a storeroom. After I was certain it was safe to come out the bartender showed ZERO concern for my safety. He didn't ask, "are you ok?" Instead, he started insinuating the attempted mugging was MY FAULT and SCOLDED me for having the nerve to seek safety behind "his bar" during an attack. After that, I was just ignored by the staff for the next 15 minutes as I waited for my Uber. The service and beverages have been middling to horrible over the years, but this was just the last straw for me.

It is telling and disheartening that what is supposed to be a safe friendly place for gay people was in fact the least welcoming and most jobsworth place we visited in the whole of Portland. The ID rules are taken to extreme levels that nowhere else did (a common issue from other reviews i see) and it felt like they actively did not want customers, even when we went out of our way to get the required documentation (passport as only had uk driving license despite being late 30s/early 40s). Nowhere else required this and even given this there was no hint of welcomingness at all. Do better or why bother.
