The food was fine. Authentic southern biscuits, and the shrimp and grits were excellent. The waitress was funny.

As a Texas man living in Portland, I don't often get a taste of home. Screen door provided not only familiar flavors but a level of service not common in the pacific northwest. I didnt find 1 to 1 flavor comparisons, rather an elevation on old time favorites.
Never really liked baked beans but theirs are amazing. Flavor on the ribs was incredible (im eating the leftovers as I write this today.) The baked Mac and cheese is the best tasting in the state of Oregon so far. The cornbread!! The sweet tea!!
And to top it off I felt like I was sitting in my grandmother's den, eating with family.
I can not wait to come back and try the less expensive items. To be clear my wife and I had ribs, appetizers, desserts and beers all coming in at under $100 pre tip. Phenomenal value for price. Enough left over for a satisfying lunch.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and book a reservation today.

No clue why this place only has 4.7 stars. It actually deserves the full 5.
Maybe someone got their feelings hurt after they got water spilled on them and melted like the wicked witch?
One of the best, if not the best, brunch my wife and I have ever had. Don’t go here, as that will leave more open tables for when we come back.

This restaurant is absolutely fabulous. The offer an assortment of chicken related dishes all of which are fantastic.
I got chicken tenders with sides of mac and cheese and fries. Their homemade ranch is phenomenal.
My friend got the same but with mashed potatoes and those were also delicious.
It wasn’t too busy when we went (weekday) but a booking would definitely be needed on the weekend.

Delicious food and great service! I had the chicken and waffle which was the perfect blend of sweet and savory. My brother loved the gumbo, and mom enjoyed her catfish.

Absolute favorite brunch spot! From the food to the staff, always consistent and great all around. The only thing others may have an issue with is the wait on weekends, if that's an issue, book ahead, it's well worth a wait either way.
Screen Door Eastside is a thing of beauty. It's how an eatery should feel. ALIVE. Full of people who wanna be there and staff who seem committed and inspired by the space they work in. Good music. Attentive staff. And creative chefs. With an open kitchen you can enjoy peering into. Recommend 10/10. Always say yes when you're considering this restaurant.
Our table was ready as promised, the food was outstanding, service was a little slow. Overall we enjoyed our brunch and will be back
