The portions have gotten so bad it is an insult. I will never return. Whoever made my sandwich on may 6, enjoy the money you saved. You don’t get anymore. I’ve been coming hers since you opened. No more.

Great food but expensive and happy hour isn’t what it was. Also I get the same chili paste (or whatever it’s called) every time and it rly makes the bahn mi. But last time I went they had no idea what I was talking about. Frustrating

Also prices and hours suck now

Wonderful street food and cocktail vibes.... backlit holes in the dark walls give a delightful ambiance to a Short Round visit. Every time we drop in, we make an attempt to try something different, and I have yet to be disappointed. I've somehow missed out on becoming a wing connousieur, but I'm turning into a big fan of the ones here. So far, we haven't gone wrong with whatever drink special they have, any random Thai dish that sounds interesting, and an order of wings. Short Round is quickly becoming a favorite spot when we're looking for something quick and genuinely tasty. Ordering at the counter and taking a number to your table makes service quick and painless.

Super solid spot. Love that it’s open late. We got the pho and the crying tiger. I loved it!! The pho broth was great and surprisingly spicy. The flank steak was cooked perfectly on the crying tiger. I definitely want to go back and try the rest of their means the cocktails. I loved the fusion takes on the classics. Wish I got more pics but we ate so fast!

They're open late and have great food. Get the Thai tea as well. Always get a Thai tea. The Thai tea is healing of all of life's wounds. Cool people work there. Give them your money

I have tried half the menu and, I kid you not, every single thing I have ordered has been reliably some of the best food I have ever eaten, and most definitely one of the most flavorful spots in all of Portland. Seasoned perfectly every time. Banger after banger. Portions are good, menu is affordable comparatively (or at least comparable in price to other restaurants), and even when I order late night, the food is always fresh. Thank you, Short Round!

Also- many of the items have a bit of a kick to them. If spicy is not your thing, make sure to get something mild or let the kitchen know.

My favorite gem in town! The staff are amazing and so is the food. My favorite things to get here are the pho, bahn mi with pork, and dumplings as an appetizer. The way they cook their meat is fantastic. It’s a great atmosphere with cool music and movies always playing in the background. There’s also a great selection of drinks. The service is fast and you can tell everyone works really hard to make sure you have a great experience. :)

I freaking love this place! Always comes in clutch when I get back in from a late night flight. SE needs more good late night eats.

The food is always delicious, cocktails on point, VIBES immaculate. With the choice movies and anime on TV. Moody lights, and you can feel the subtle bass of the music.

Also 10/10 seeing the aunties cooking most of the meals.

No photos cause I smash the food before I can take a pic.

This place rules. Everything on the menu is great, especially the vermicelli and the wings. The drinks are strong and might be some of the cheapest in town. Fun atmosphere too with choice picks on the screens every night.

Wonderful spot for a late night bite! Came here with a friend after being out seeing music, we got bah mi to eat in and then I also got a vegetable and rice dish to take home. We're both vegetarian; there's a decent selection and what we had was all super delicious. The sweet potato fries that come with the sandwich were some of the best I've ever had (and I'm picky about my sweet potato fries).

Service was friendly, prompt, and accommodating. Environment is nice but still comfortable and casual enough to be at ease. There's 4 TVs playing different things, felt a bit brain rot over stimulation-u, but they were all muted so it wasn't intrusive.

Great place!

This place rocks! The staff is warm and helpful. Lights are dim and it’s vibey. Drinks are great - they make their own ginger beer! Food is top notch - just ask for suggestions based on what you’re in the mood for. All around thoughtful and special place; not to be missed!

Short Round / Crying Tigers is a lively, modern spot known for its bold flavors and trendy vibe. The menu often features Asian-fusion dishes with a focus on grilled meats and punchy sauces. “Crying Tigers” (spicy marinated steak) is a standout—tender, flavorful, and well-balanced with heat. The cocktails are creative, and the casual-chic setting makes it great for groups or a fun night out. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and service is generally friendly and attentive. A solid choice for adventurous eaters looking for bold tastes.
