Its all about profit

I worked/frequented SlowBomb from early December 2023 to Late March 2024. I was originally hired on as a part time barista, working 3 days a week. This changed towards the end of January, when a past worker quit, and I subsequently shifted to 4 days a week. The past employee was definitely upset (as Cheyenne would not allow them to finish their 2 week notice) and wrote some things I felt were a bit harsh (even to the point of publicly defending Cheyenne), but I can safely say after 4 months of my time and work being put into Cheyenne's business, I agree that she is unethical. To start Cheyenne pays her employees minimum wage but has come up to me several times and shown me a charts/sheets explaining how it's so expensive to have employees and how much of a burden we are since we are unfortunately a cost/tax to her. This was extremely uncomfortable for me and was a huge cross of the line when it comes to employee - boss interactions. To add to my experiences there was a time I expressed I felt overwhelmed and wanted to change my schedule, she asked me about my C-PTSD and said that I was probably overwhelmed by that, and not my job. In the middle of this conversation, she started ignoring this very sensitive topic that she had brought up, and recommended I get more therapy... something I didn't make enough to even afford. I was also called things by Cheyenne that I really did not appreciate such as saying I'm weird, crazy, messed up etc. To add to the crossing of boundaries, Cheyenne has cameras inside her shop that record her employees visually and audibly. I was told this was only for safety and that she wouldn't watch us yet was sent videos/recordings of me which were also shared with customers without my permission. She has also spread disgusting rumors about her past/current employees and customers, especially those that came from the mentally ill housing up the road. Yet, unfortunately when I've issued complaints about customers, I have still had to serve them even when it's been a personal safety concern. She has also had me block customers from the text in service over mistakes (not knowing the location/not making it in time) without informing the customer. Not to mention she doesn't offer discounts ever, she overcharges for sauces in drinks, and she is getting rid of her loyalty cards because she doesn't want anything to take from her own profit. She made it so clear to me that I was nothing more than numbers to her, and if I inconvenienced her in the slightest, I was likely to get fired. Which I was unfortunately fired without notice or written warnings, and not by Cheyenne, but by her Husband as she completely avoided me/taking responsibility - she also made me sign a form explaining why I was fired that lacked any detail or actual accounts, which came across as her covering her back so she wouldn't have to pay any unemployment, because again she only cares about her profits. I was extremely underpaid, overwhelmed, and dehumanized by this place and Cheyenne.

Haley was an absolute pleasure to order from. Great customer service and made us feel not only welcome but carried on a great conversation during the process. Outstanding drinks we received and service. Nice lil set up and we enjoyed the covered deck while waiting and conversing. Highly recommend Slowbomb Coffee!

I stopped by here a few times during my weeklong stay in Beaverton. Every visit I ordered I different drink, and every drink I ordered was excellent! Whether it was coffee, Lotus energy or a chai, it was always delicious. My favorite was a winter special, the White Icicle Lotus (white chocolate, blue raspberry with blue lotus). It was incredibly sweet, but that’s just what I wanted that afternoon. I also loved their Build-Your-Own Breakfast Sandwiches. The possibilities were endless, and I especially appreciated them having Sriracha! They’re popular - I was never the only customer and each visit was at least 7-10 minutes, but it was worth it every time. Highly recommend!

Not a lot of coffee shops really feel very “local” anymore and I really miss that vibe. Even though Slowbomb is a drive-up, they still give the small, local coffee shop experience! Extra friendly staff and (as far I can tell) very active/responsive management. Truly a rarity in the “post”-pandemic world.Dietary restrictions: Options are limited, be prepared to skip the food if you have very specific restrictions. Staff seems to do their best to accommodate requests.Parking: A few spots available for those who want to sit at their picnic tables. Huge parking lot next door at the brewery.

This is my favorite coffee stand! In addition to excellent coffee, I love the NW Fog Latte and bagel sandwiches. The bagel sandwiches are really simple but so delicious and I don’t understand why they are so

I've been in Portland for 10 years now. Moving here from the rural south it took me years to develop that PNW love of coffee, but I'm daily drinker and love trying every coffee shack I come across. Hands down this is the best. Perfect Cup at Halsey and 122nd is still my favorite shack on that side of the river, but Slow Bomb truly is the best coffee I have had in Oregon since moving here. If you love coffee and not just the sugar they add, order a Bomb in the Dark with a splash of cream.
