Smaaken Waffle Sandwiches

I’ve been to this place so many times and it’s never failed me. I usually get the Vegan Maple sandwich, It’s great!

While visiting my adult children in Portland this weekend, they brought me here for brunch before traveling back home. What a gem of a find! Loved the atmosphere, sandwich was outstanding, I will return again when back in town.

Absolutely divine. Incredible waffles like no other!

Great people! Good variety of food, especially for breakfast. Most of their ingredients are quality. Wish they had more of a rich tasting waffle instead of what tastes like a Kellogg’s eggo waffle.

We ordered two waffle sandwiches on a Tuesday around 1. I got the chicken and maple and my son got a powdered sugar one. We shared a side of fries and washed it all down with lemonade. Food was amazing! I felt like I was bothering the cashier by ordering. The fresh made lemonade had almost no flavor and lots of ice. Refreshing on a hot day but not the lemon flavor I was looking for.

Good waffles with dietary options plentiful but just not worth the wait in person, order online and pickup, that who you are competing with in person. Also check your sauces as I narrowly avoided dousing a waffle in salad dressing included in the box

Customer service was sub-par. Felt like we were bothering the help by placing an order. What was worse was the sausage sandwich was undercooked, and we were served nearly raw meat. I will not return, nor do we recommend. Save your money and choose a different cart to eat at.

I found out about Smaaken bc my son ordered them via door dash, I realized it's cheaper and fresher to just go to the cart. These sandwiches are so satisfying, esp when you wake up hungry on a weekend and want a bit of sweet but also savory. I had the chicken maple and added lettuce, tomato, and Sriracha aioli for 2$. It's a fight between Smaaken and El Jefe when I come to these carts. Pure comfort food.

It looks delicious. Would love to try them but there never seems to be anyone in the cart.

Maybe it’s not the best idea with the waffle ultimately but I had the Beet Napoleon and I didn’t get it to go, wouldn’t recommend that because of the vinaigrette. There could’ve been bigger pieces of beets for the amount of cheese. The service vibe could’ve been a little more than doing the minimum.
