My family and I had the very unfortunate experience of eating at their food truck at Zoo Lights. After a 40 minute wait we were given food that was all sweet and no spice. Even the burger had sweet sauce on it! The grilled shrimp wrap? Doused in sticky sweet sauce. The veggie curry rice bowl? Made with frozen peas and carrots and also grossly sweet. We spent $80 after tip and the only edible food was the French fries. Super duper disappointed.

This food truck is pretty decent. Definitely something different than your average food truck. Quite a few of the items on the menu have turmeric. If turmeric is not for you, neither is this food truck. The truck gives out pretty hefty portions, which is nice.

In general, Afghan food never disappoints and Taste of Afghan was no exception! I ordered #22, the Borani Banjan, for $14. It took about 10 minutes to prepare and it seemed like it was being made to order. In any case, this was a delicious vegetarian dish (eggplant in a yogurt sauce)! Other vegetarian options included a salad, a chickpea salad, garlic and plain naan and French fries. More to try next time! The ladies who served me were very sweet. This food truck is located within the Eastport Food Cart pods. There were a lot of other trucks that looked great, but given the choice I would come back to Taste if Afghan in a heartbeat. Parking is free on the street and was fairly easy to find. There is plenty of seating within the food cart pod and they even had a mist-er running because it was a warm afternoon. I took my food home and it was still very hot about 15 minutes after receiving it. I will be back!

Tried this cart at the Fremont Festival yesterday. They charge $17 for a veggie plate of rice, peas, and corn. The side salad is tiny and is dressed with sweet chili sauce. Not the quality I’d expect for the price. I’d pass on this place.

We went to their stall in pdx night market. The vegan curry plate was flavorless. The curry was steamed veggies flavored with salt. No liquid whatsoever. The chapati became hard in 5 mins. The samosa had almost the same vegetable filling as the curry. I'd to pay $17 for this food!!

Great Afghan food in portland! Reminds me of being back in New York with all the great afghan restaurants. I wish they could expand with more food carts and also come to the west side!

This is the best food I have had in Portland, possibly the best food I have had in years. My friends and I ordered and shared the Chapli Kabob, Afghani Pulao, Seekh Kabob, and Boolani. It was incredible. The Boolani perfectly toasted, the kabobs brilliantly grilled, the rice simply wondrous. Words are scarce to describe our experience. I say this to everyone: Go. But should you be of Afghani, Pakistani, or Indian heritage, I say one thing only: Ghar yaad aajaega.

It's humble, simple food with good flavor. The lady running the place on the day I visited with friends was very helpful in explaining the menu and making suggestions.

Food was good but prepare to wait very long. Came here on lunch break and waited more than 40 minutes just to get my food.
