Absolutely love this place and the atmosphere and cozyness
Mocha is super wonderful
Bagels are good and have a nice crust although it’s with a heavy heart that I have to say they do not put anywhere near enough cream cheese on the bagels, very weak shmear and is more like a butter spread, yes it’s convenient for eating it on the go but also like if they just kept the cream cheese super cold it wouldn’t splooge out that much, idk I’m just tasting way more bagel than cream cheese
Love this place though

My girlfriend and I have never started a roadtrip without these bagels in the car with us. Real bagels, killer staff, charming location. This is the bagel you have been looking for.

Food was tasty, and had a great first visit, but on our second visit the employees seemed more engaged in their conversation than on top of our order. Finished my sandwich and waited, and had to ask for my beverage to be made. There were only 2 other customers in the store and no one had come in after us.

I've been coming to Spielman's for years and actually got a big order of bagels and schmear for my small wedding reception this past summer which was really fun (and their staff were so kind and helpful during pickup!) I love that Spielman's has creative sandwiches and a lot of different drink options. It seems like not many bagel shops do real espresso anymore so it feels special to get a latte with my bagel :-) Their outdoor area is really cute and feels secluded with plants and picnic benches. Love you Spielman's!!

Love the bagels, but customer service is ass...can we go back to the days across the street with one counter and cool people not eye rolls and people that do not even care if you are there...
I had pretty much no notes. A hearty bagel made from sourdough starter felt like the star of the show, not an afterthought like a lot of bagels do it. Smoked salmon schmear was on point, and because I can't get enough salt, a thick and tasty rasher of bacon with avo. It was a full meal and everything I wanted in a bagel. Can't wait to go back.

Good bagels, good coffee. Just a point- the way they have the menu layed out is incredibly confusing.

Decor is fun! The light-filled space is cute. Unfortunately the bagels are not great (nice sourdough taste, but the texture is incorrect) and the coffee is nasty. The plainer menu items highlight the flaws of the bagels (order a plain toasted bagel and you'll find it really tough and dense, like if you microwaved a day-old, not toasted at all) but the more complex menu items are kind of strange and not executed consistently. Have tried this place a few times now – it's just not it. If I'm in the mood for slow service with an attitude there's about 40 superior bakeries in town that know how to make a latte. Do they do bagels? No. But maybe Portland should bow out of the bagel game altogether
The best bagel you can get in PDX. Don’t get me wrong- their coffee sucks, but the incredibly eclectic decor and local regulars can’t be beat. Personal obsessions are their cheddar bagels, the Gina Marie’s cream cheese, and tomatoes that are somehow always in-season. You won’t be disappointed.

Really great bagel until I found a hair literally baked into the bagel :(
I couldn’t even pull it out because it is baked in.
The menu is all hand written and not easy to read at all, but the service and food were amazing.

Exceptionally good bagels (dense and chewy… not fluffy), and they did a great job with my favorite breakfast sandwich: Everything bagel with bacon, egg and cheddar. Nice seating indoors and out. Generally pretty busy with customers eating there and taking food to go, so expect to wait in line for a few minutes to order, and maybe ten more to get your food, but it’s worth the wait.
