We had an exceptional evening at St Jack. While there were a few awkward moments with the staff, the food made up for it. When we first arrived with a reservation, they didn't have a table for 5 ready for us, and tried to put us at a table for 4 with a person on the end. St. Jack has a lovely atmosphere (even though the music is too loud).Our server Kerry was FABULOUS!!!! The frites and butter lettuce salad were very good, but soft butter served with a mediocre baguette is definitely not French. The scallop dish was just silly. It consisted of 1 or maximum 2 scallops cut up into little pieces floating around in a weird sauce with a few cut up cherries. However It was lovely of St. J to bring us a dish of delicious chocolate ice cream for my birthday.
We went to St. Jack’s for my birthday and let me tell you it DID NOT disappoint. I’ve walked past this restaurant for years and have always wanted to try it and I’m so glad we did. My fiance and I sat at the chef’s counter, so we got to watch the team prepare the food. Everything was meticulously put together. We shared a cheese plate, appetizers and a plat principaux apiece.
