I dont go into the downtown Portland area much but I have been trying to come to this restaurant for a while now and when I would drive by this restaurant there would always be a line outside and their dinning area is small so the wait is about 20-35 mins per group but luckily today i was able to get in without having to wait outside. The food here is delicious, so I ordered the chicken fried steak with gravy served with 2 eggs, sliced potatoes(hashbrowns) and toast. I figured if the gravy is good then the rest of the food on the menu has to be good and the gravy was a hit for me. The food was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered a pumpkin mancake and she could not finish it so I did lol, that pumpkin mancake hit the spot. The pancakes here are huge so order carefully lol. I will definently be returning to try other dishes. The staff is very cool and polite, best service anyone could ask for.
My wife is trying not to eat dairy but there wasn't any said dairy substitutes on the menu which is fine, we still ate lol. Theres a nostalgic vibe in the restaurant. It is small so it is hard to get in with a wheelchair but they can get you at one of the couple of tables next to the door. Definitely try this place if you haven't yet.

Fun old timey spot with lots of character and service who really care about your experience. I started with a cinnamon roll which was light and fluffy topped with the perfect amount of frosting. My next stop was the carnitas benedict which was filling but the carnitas was dry and lacked flavor. Overall, great experience but I would go with a sweet over savory meal next time.

Such a great place!! :D I got the eggs Oliver. Biscuits and eggs were so good. Also, it was overcast and there were 80s goth/new wave music videos playing inside. The perfect Portland day🌧️🌧️

Good easy diner food with great friendly neighbourhood service. Often a line, but they turnover quickly. Our go-to. Also one time we left a jacket at the table and a server ran down the road to give it back to us!
Extremely disappointed. We arrived today and were told to wait outside — no problem at first. But then we watched as the first family left, then the second, then the third — and still, we were left standing outside, completely ignored. Not once did anyone come to check on us or offer an update. When someone finally came out, their tone was unwelcoming and dismissive, as if we weren’t welcome at all. If we hadn’t had kids with us, we would’ve walked away immediately.
Absolutely unacceptable treatment!!!
2’s across the board. Brunch was mediocre. Coffee was good, but food was meh. Pancake was dry, syrup seemed cheap. Omelette lacked seasoning. Service was sassy - which seems to be their thing. The motto for the diner is “You eat here because we let you.” And, they seem to take this seriously. I just can’t understand a paying customer being treated like a bother. Lastly, the cleanliness is below average. As you walk into the diner, one can’t help but notice the smell of mold, underpowered by the smell of bleach. Bon appetit!
