I think this is the best coffee in Portland! Amazing latte. Great service and a great team. Great togo or to have a cup there. And dog friendly!

My niece took me here this morning for the first time. Super approachable and friendly staff, great atmosphere, and shockingly fair coffee prices. Amazing coffee and overall my new favorite spot. I would drive put of my way and brave parking to go here often!

Sterling coffee is one of my all time favorite coffee shops. The atmosphere, service, and delicious coffee and espresso are top notch. I love how dog friendly and welcoming they are. The owners and the people who work there are lovely. We love Tak! High recommend checking this place out whenever in Portland.

Not fond of this place. Every coffee I’ve tried here has steered towards the kind of Italian very roasted flavors. If you mostly like lighter third wavey stuff this isn’t the place. The espresso tastes extremely carbonized/ashy to me but YMMV.

Favorite neighborhood coffee spot. Coffee is always perfect. Baristas are always extremely nice, and they even bring you your coffee which is a lovely touch.

Rare gem in the Portland coffee scene. Been into the shop a few times and ordered beans delivered a few times and I will always continue to support this business.

It's hard to say why it's so much better here than at other roasters/shops but I'll try. I would describe it as elevated service but without any bit of stuffiness or pretension.

Doesn't try to hard to be cool. Doesn't care about fads- only the timelessness of great coffee. I could see this place in the 1800's in a busy seaport town slinging the same quality or in year 2300.

That amazing service shines through even to mail order. If you live in the Portland area you WILL GET FRESH ROASTED COFFEE DELIVERED WITHIN LIKE 3 DAYS. My most recent order i put in on Friday. Roasted Monday. Delivered Tuesday.

And finally the beans are just outta this world. Do yourself a favor. Skip the gimmicky shops and go for the classic.

Great space. Everyone was ALWAYS friendly. Even to my kids. They make you feel like they want you there. And additionally it's always so obvious everyone there likes what they do and loves coffee.

Enjoyed it enough that I came back the next day with my wife!

The way they do espresso here is pretty unique and I enjoyed it a lot. You get to pick light or medium then you get a shot of espresso, drip, and sparkling water. When trying new shops, I'll often get an espresso and a cup of drip, so it was cool to see them combined in this way. The first day I got the light board with a washed Kenyan espresso and a Zambian anaerobic drip, both were excellent, but the espresso was probably top 3 espresso's I've gotten at a shop. I also got a pumpkin streusel muffin that rocked. Super crispy, sugary, top with a moist bottom.

Day 2 we got the light and medium boards. Light espresso was the same as the day before and still great, so they're consistent. The drip changed and was fine. The medium board had their house drip which I wasn't a fan of as it seemed a bit dark for a medium, espresso was good though.

My previous barista job served sterling coffee, working with them was always a pleasure. I now get to come enjoy their coffee in the comfort of their own shop. Aric is awesome, as well as the rest of the crew! Favorite coffee in Portland for sureeeee. <3

Great chai lattes and filthy good coffee. Really exceptional service from all the staff. Took the time to explain the processes and components of the drinks without being pretentious at all.

Wow! So very smooth. I have spent the past two months bouncing all over Oregon..from the redwoods area to high desert Bend to the coast, through forests and all along the Willamette Valley...to look for the perfect cup of Americano. Most offerings I have come across are too harsh/acidic for me so I end up needing to put lots of cream to make it drinkable. Sterling's offering is perfect. Staff is professional and friendly. And the decor has a touch of classic sophistication without being pretentious.

My mom went and got coffee for us every morning from here when I was in the hospital and I was so thankful for their quality! The best coffee I've had in a while. My Mom used to be a barista and is a total self-admitting coffee snob and she was raving about their coffee and service quality. I would definitely recommend this coffee shop!
