This is hands down the best summer coffee joint. The outdoor space is so freaking pretty and has lots of tables and space. The baristas are knowledgeable and friendly, I had a great chat about an iced matcha with a little honey so it wasn’t too sweet. They know their stuff and it was a good experience!

My go to for coffee beans, you get a free cup of coffee with every bag of beans. The baristas are always friendly and welcoming. If you get a chance, check out their baked goods, they have vagn options that are amazing!

The coffee never fails! The original cold brew just can’t be beat. The service is as one would expect in Portland rather slow and unhelpful. And the atmosphere is dark and rather depressing.

Without a doubt, one of the very best and most professional shops in Portland. Why? Well for starters, I go out to coffee at coffee shops about 360 out of 365 days a year. I first moved to Portland two years ago and immediately began traveling all over Portland-proper to try out the shops I like best. I quickly gravitated to Stumptown on Division for the following reasons:1) Although it can get extremely busy and the service area is a bit small, this never seems to rattle any of the highly professional staff. Each and every individual who works there makes excellent cappuccino and other drinks as well.2) The amiability that I experience there on a daily basis is extremely important to me. I also see this as they interact with multiple other customers, regular and irregular.3) The atmosphere and ambience. I love listening to music that was selected by people with good taste in music, and vinyl specifically. This good taste in music represented by the staff is a beautiful way to start my day-even if it's not something I'm a huge fan of. In particular, Matt, West, and a few others love to put on a record or a well-curated playlist which is never too loud and never too soft. Although the owner's should put a bit more attention and thought (and money) into the sound system.Rebuttal: I have read many of the negative reviews and have experience a lot of these same types of people as customers while I'm there. They are often entitled and out-of-touch with both society and show a distinct lack of consideration when dealing with other people in the world, much less with people in the food and beverage industry. I've seen particular workers called out negatively for the most inane reasons, so I'd like to highlight a few of the current employees who are also the reason I come here daily. Matt, Cacia, West, Conrad, Audreall, Evan, Maxine, and Ed. From the moment I began coming here two years ago, every single one of them have treated me with nothing but the utmost friendliness and respect. However, please remember that people who work in jobs that provide us things such a food and coffee have their own problems and may not be having the best day themselves. At least they made it in to work. The world is not here to serve you, but rather, you are here to positively interact and better the world. Try not and not make the world a worse place.

This place is absolutely amazing. I am visiting from West Virginia and discovered this place online several years ago. I used to subscribe to their automatic deliveries every 2 weeks. To actually come here and have the coffee was amazing. Five stars plus!

Easily top 3 lattes I've ever had - delicious! Got a van/haz oat milk latte ♡Edit: Certain new baristas don't produce the best quality lattes..Dietary restrictions: Gluten free oat milk

I tried the “Dirty Chai Latte” it was an experience of flavor, a great balance between the original spiced chai and coffee espresso shots.I went there a few times before, the people is really kind and willing to help you, the place is really nice and comfy, perfect to bring a book or spend a good time with folks100% recommended.

Instead, go down 2 blocks to Good Coffee cafe and get quality coffee and service. This Stumptown doesn't let you add your own cream. The biggest coffee company in Portland is gate keeping their cream. Also, I've tried to go here several times because I live in the neighborhood. I've gotten super watered down coffee that cost $4 and a super disappointing mocha. I used to work at a multi roaster. I know what good coffee tastes like. This is not it. Stumptown beans are good- but this cafe is no bueno.

Breakfast sandwich was super small and underwhelming, especially for $8.50. Pastries and coffee are incredible.

If you want to pay $5.75 for a 12 oz latte then have at it. Never seen that price before, anywhere! I was just in Seattle and a latte there was $4.75. Bad idea to price your tasteless coffee ridiculously. Oh yea forgot…the tall redheaded dude tried to school me on what goes into coffee to make it so expensive. Then started to compare the plaid pantry coffee as a “get what you pay for” insinuation. Nice try.

I was disappointed after hearing so much about their coffee. I appreciate a lighter. More European roast. This was ⭐fx style , too dark, for me, service was outstanding, great brekkie options.

I came here to study as it's a "Portland staple" and thought that it was such a cute and cozy shop to study in! There's a lot more space inside than it looks, with plenty of seating--but it's also a pretty popular spot, so it can get filled up. I just ordered an Americano and sat at the windows to study. The service was super quick, and the ambiance was great. The only thing I was a bit disappointed about was that my coffee tasted a bit burnt--my boyfriend got a drip coffee that was great, so maybe mine was just an unlucky order. Nonetheless, I wouldn't mind coming back and think that it's a really nice place to get some work done!

Stopped multiple times while visiting our son's family. Walkable, good coffee/tea and bakery items.
