Sunny's Diner Happy Valley

Amazing experience at Sunny’s Diner! I was there today, and the country fried steak was outstanding, perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and topped with a delicious gravy. The hash browns were golden and full of flavor, easily some of the best I’ve had.

My brother ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, and it’s a must-try as well. The chicken was crispy, well seasoned, and had just the right amount of heat, all served on a soft bun that brought everything together perfectly. The food quality and flavors really stand out, everything looked and tasted delicious.

I was there today and I can say that the food was really delicious, the vegetables looked fresh and everything had a good flavor.

I hate to give a poor review when the service is so excellent. The food however is important in my opinion. The food was very disappointing. The hash browns were not edible. They were actually raw. The ham was barely warm in my scrambled eggs and ham. The biscuit appeared to be microwaved leaving it hard. I am not sure I have ever been so disappointed in a breakfast dining experience in my life. The only reason I gave the food 2 stars instead of one is because the food appeared to be of decent quality and presentable. With a qualified cook I dare say it might be edible. Not sure I will tru again, but if I do it will probably be not on a Wednesday in hopes of a different cook and definitely not ordering hash browns here again.

Great little diner! The food always tastes fresh, the service is quick, and the team is super friendly. I’ve been here several times and everything from the pancakes to the hamburgers has been delicious. It’s become one of my go to breakfast places in Happy Valley.

So me and my grandma we were out on black friday just finished 2 hours of shopping and got really hungry for some food. She suggested this place. She went there before and thought it was good, she probably got the pancakes. So we sat down and ordered out food i got the ultimate scrabble and she got the eggs and ham. This came with hash browns and toast. Now from past experience from any other diner we thought oh its going to be the eggs at the center point with all the filling mixed in with it, Or maybe the fillings would be on the side like links and just the hash browns would be on the side like a small handful.
What we got was a plate full of hashbrown with all the fillings mixed in with the hashbrowns and eggs just sitting on top. With disgusting oil hashbrowns. And the toast was just lightly cooked and we got sourdough and it was spongy. Also on mine had some cheese that was not even melted and was the smallest amount ever. Probably never going back.

Food tasted terrible. Everything on my plate tasted the same; the hash browns tasted like my toast and chicken fried steak for example. Its like as if they're cooking everything on the same grill surface, for EVERYONE? The eggs were ok. I'm ultimately dissatisfied with spending over 50 bucks here. There are other diners who actually take pride in their skill and this place will never be it

Had the diced ham and eggs. I expected diced ham mixed with scrambled eggs, not half inch chunks piled on top! Hash browns were greasy and tasted of old oil. Ordered the cinnamon toast, received basically untoasted bread with very, very little cinnamon swirl. Service was pretty good but had a long wait (15 minutes) even though we counted 4 open tables. Wait staff did not even acknowledge us for over 10 minutes.

Portions were larger than normal but then so was the price.

Overall a very disappointing visit. I would not return here.

Very unassuming, but some of the best food I've ever had. Great service, unique delicious sandwiches.. Every bite has so much flavor. Great value... Come hungry or split it. Will be back often! Way better than other diners. Holy cow.
