While the best Indian food the area is probably in Beaverton/Hillsboro, Swagat is probably the best in PDX. Lots of great vegan options. Deserves 5 stars.

The soups were very salt, food was fairly bland. They’re very polite but not worth the overall cost of our visit

I wouldn’t recommend eating here.

A good Indian restaurant to go with groups. Will not wow you but will not disappoint. Drinks were awesome. Buffett is the way to go for lunch!

Been going for 3 years. It was the first restaurant I went to once I got my first paycheck when I moved into a nearby studio. I've compared every other Indian restaurant to Swagat ever since. I even went vegetarian in the past year and it's still the best. Their lunch thali is unbeatable.

Probably the best Indian I have been to in Portland. Had a dosa as an appetizer and the lamb vindaloo thali as the entree (you have to be really hungry to do this - it’s a lot of food) and all were excellent. The thali option is very worthwhile as you get a lot of side dishes/accompaniments for extra $7 only. Washed it all down with the IPA they have on tap (the beer selection is very broad and interesting compared to most Indian restaurants).

I think I will come here every time I am in Portland.

I visited the place with my colleagues. It’s managed by a guy from Andhra who has quite an attitude. The food was decent.

First off, we ordered takeout and our order got lost. It seems perhaps they work with too many of the to-go apps and couldn’t quite keep things straight. The staff were kind and helpful, but what was supposed to be a 30 min wait, turned into an hour and 15 min.

Once we did receive our food, it was a bit lackluster. Will likely not return.

I hadn't been to swggats in a couple of years. I'm glad to say the food is just as good as I remember it. If you haven't had Indian food, this is a great place to go to try it for the first time.

We came here for lunch with kids. We ordered and waited for 30-35 mins but when food didn’t arrive we asked the server. The lady was outright rude in tone, shouting that i have a restaurant full of people and can do only as much. We told that kids are hungry so thats why we are asking, but there was no empathy. Looked like, after asking she intentionally delayed the food. Finally after waiting for 50 mins, we left.
Never coming back.
