Sweet Home Chicken (SHC)

I was just visiting Portland and found this on my Google map. Highly recommend trying this spot. Super friendly, welcoming person taking the order (Juni ?) Jalipeno sauce bonless chicken was hot and crispy, pieces were good size. Sweet Spicy sauce Tofu was crispy on the outside, silky on the inside. I got 2 Kim chee sides and the order came with pickled radish. One of my dishes came with rice i didn't ask for, but it was good. Overall, it was delicious but will ask for lightly sauced or on the side next time as it was very generously sauced; some people might like that. Space is small but I did see several Uber type pick ups.

Vegetarian options: Limited to Tofu, rice, fermented or pickled items. French Fries.

Flavors were amazing (I don't dish that out easily). Fries were also a sleeper hit if you like simple meaty fries (but the chicken takes the main stage of course).

The Korean fried chicken here is so good! Unique flavors and fried to perfection. Service is always good and quick! I was looking for an authentic Korean chicken spot in Portland and this has now become my go to!

The corndogs are delicious and the chicken is always fresh, hot, and tasty. The owners are also so nice and ready to help you with any questions about the menu. Such great service.

Cute spot in NoPo. Wish the food had been better. Tried the Sweet Butter boneless chicken and the tteokbokki with cheese. For the price, the food quality and flavor was below our hopeful expectations. Chicken was too sweet and didn't really taste like real chicken. Tteokbokki tasted like sugary tomato soup from a can with some red pepper and pre-shredded mozzarella. Unfortunately, the fountain drink was a fail as well due to being out of both Coke and Dr. Pepper. Got stuck with a flat orange Fanta with barely any ice, which tasted like dirty tap water. Skip this place.

Tteok-bokki was too tomato-soup like and less gochujang flavored. I wouldn't recommend.

Butter chicken was crispy and flavorful, but the meat was mealy and gross.

We weren't told that two of the fountain flavors were out and the rest had no carbonation...kinda lame.

Anyway, the draw here is the chicken and I wouldn't recommend it, especially for the price.

Great local business. The store owner is always super nice. It's a must if you're a coege student because of the student discount. It does take a little long because it's made fresh.

Sooo freaking delicious. Sweet Home Chicken is fantastic. The chicken is crispy and fried to order. The rice is perfect. Everything is so flavorful, perfectly spicy and sweet. I got the sweet jalapeño chicken. Can’t wait to come back and try other flavors! Highly recommend trying this place.

Everything at this place is delicious! You must try everything once. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. If you haven't been you better go get you some!

Absolutely beautifully cooked chicken. Extremely juicy for breast meat and the crisp of the batter is phenomenal.
