Been coming here since they were a food cart and it remains an absolute favorite. I always know when too many weeks have passed between visits, because I start getting irrationally cranky. The Oy Gevalt! is the best meal in town. I can't describe the perfection of the latke/smoked salmon/egg/dill sauce. You can't go wrong with any of the other options either.

This place came recommended by family while visiting town. The food is extremely authentic. Reminded me of my great-grandmother's cooking. Better to go a little earlier because they may run out!

It's been awhile since I went there, but it was excellent. I told my niece about it this morning, and she and her family went there for lunch. They all gave it an A and said they would go back. And, they told my older sister about it, and she's fussy about things. I'm getting ready to place my order for Chanukah.

My girlfriend and I were heading into Portland for the event. I saw Sweet Lorraine's's on a food critics review. So, of course we had to make this a destination. My husband and I are known for making excellent latkes, and myself Black and whites! With that being said, these were excellent latkes. The potatoes are shredded like they should be ;-) the flavors were delicious. The plate came with two latkes, which was plenty for one person. We also purchased knishes to go, so I haven't tried those yet, but they look incredible. The black and white cookies are so good! They remind me of ones we used to get in Los Angeles off Fairfax. Since they had closed, I had to learn to make them myself, it was such a real treat to have something so similar to to what our kids grew up with! Mazel Tov! I can't wait to watch how this restaurant grows but at the same time keeping it very cozy so everyone can schmooze.

These latkes are transcendent. You take one bite and are transported into an alternate reality of deliciousness. They're even better with the sour cream and applesauce. And the kasha varnishkes? They'll save you a trip to New York. Finish up with a classic black-and-white cookie.

While I can't speak to the authenticity, which I know is what many folks look for when it comes to comfort food, I can say: this food is insanely delicious. The folks running this place are kind as could be and the portions are massive. We ordered 2 latkes, 2 knishes, and an order of kugel--probably enough for 3 people! The food is warm, savory heaven. I can't wait to come back.

Wandered in on a whim and OMG, this is the deli food your Bubby misses from her childhood. The knishes? Amazing. The sandos? Unbelievable. We got a whitefish sandwich and a breakfast special, both were great. Going to come back soon with all the friends. :)

Stumbled upon this place completely by accident and I’m so glad we did! We had several small children in tow and we felt so comfortable. Food was absolutely delicious (we had latkes, breakfast plates with lox and cucumber salad, and matzo ball soup), owners and staff were lovely, and the vibe was super relaxed and fun. They have high chairs (of course) and changing tables and huge bonus points for having infant diapers in the bathroom! If you’re shopping at Cargo just down the block, anywhere in the neighborhood, or even if you’re not, Sweet Lorraine’s is worth a visit. Can’t wait to go back.

Oh boy! What a treat this place is. Started going back when they had their food truck, and I'm excited now that they have a sit down place. So many staples that are really hard to find here on the West Coast that are remind me of being back in the old delis in New York. And amazing white fish, egg cream, knishes, latkes! What more could you possibly ask for? They will probably surprise you with one of their weekend specials. Everyone I have taken to this place has left full, and with a gigantic smile on their face. One of my coworkers, after eating there for the first time, said that that food nourished their soul. And he is not wrong. To do yourself a favor and go enjoy a meal from Sweet Lorraine.

This is the third time I've had this food since moving into their new space. I can't express how delicious everything has been. The time and care they put into everything they make is impressive.

The real deal. Best Latkes I have had, and great service too. I highly recommend Sweet Lorraine's. It's not easy to replicate good Jewish food. Many have tried, and not succeeded. Sweet Lorraine's is nailing it. Go there, you will be happy.
