Unpretentious chill spot. Their hemp milk latte was really good! Enjoyed their untuna melt with cashew cheese. Tasty!

Here. I came here for a pick-me-up lunch on a trip and ordered the tofu scramble. Now this. Is the BOMB. It's a giant mound of tofu scramble and tempeh bacon to top it off. Essentially a protein platter with some veggies in between. Delicious. I also shared their charlie brown bar which was stellar, a peanut butter lover's dream. The sandwiches they had were also enjoyed and the maple bacon waffles are a welcome twist on traditional waffles.

Stopped in for something sweet after lunch. Their peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookie hit the spot! Updated from previous review on 2025-05-14

The sandwich I had was soo good, the Tempe bacon was delicious and matched great with the tofu scramble!

I have loved all the coffee, sandwiches, and pastries I've tried. I want to try them all, but the menu is extensive and the pastry case is huge! The pastries I've had (snickerdoodle, & tofu scramble croissant) have had the chewiness to them that I seek in pastries. The sandwiches are filling and fresh. The staff are great, too!

Had a scone that was wonderful. My companions loved the cinnamon roll and almond thingy.

This is my favorite bakery in Portland, I love Sweetpea and recommend it wholeheartedly to everyone I know! There’s an issue with the baked goods, though. There was a review about this 6 months ago but it’s still happening. Almost everything is at least half raw dough. (Update: yeah I got pretty sick from the one I took a bite out of this morning)

I see this in every croissant, danish, and strudel I get; usually the whole bottom is raw. The strudel I got today was raw the whole way through except the very outside, like they just put it in at a high temp for a few minutes. For the price, the bakers really need to figure this out… as the other reviewer said, this isn’t an issue with being vegan, it’s an issue with the bake.

I’ve gotten a pretty upset stomach from this so please cut and check your pastries before you eat them.

I love the recipes and flavors, they just need more love in the oven ❤️

Food is 10/10, the P.Cole is my fav, lots of seitan, vegan cheese, indulgent. They have coffee and meh baked goods; for the ultimate vegan bakery, I prefer Shoofly Bakery.

The music is absolutely obnoxious, it’s a mix of loud techno/dance beats which makes me wanna run out of there, asap.

Ambience — not my style; dark colors, grunge, un-inviting.

Customer service is pretty standard for Portland. 😉😄

Opens early and has good seating. Different baked goods, all good. The breakfast croissants with tofu scramble are an awesome way to start the day.

I love this place. I think I’ve came here over 50 times in the last 5 years, and more often in the last two years.

Here’s a few things that need to be tweaked to offer an even greater experience:

1. Refurbish interior. No resources for that?! No problem, ask for investments. You need a capital infusion, let us your customers contribute to this establishment.
2. Survey your baked goods offering. Eliminate goods that are left at end of day or reduce offering considerably and INCREASE the popular items. Increase the price for the popular items, I don’t mind paying $.25 cents extra, but those extra cents add up over time for you as the owner.
3. In addition to interior refurbish, improve atmosphere by creating an ambiance that’s adequate for your business type. Bake some croissants at 10 am, let the smell of freshly baked pastries 🥐 take over. Play cafe like music, easy on the ear, lower volume to ensure those with company, or reading can hear their own thoughts or each other. Please for the love of anything that’s Howly, refrain from playlists that are…an acquired, particular taste, that’s a detractor. You don’t want to have detractors, even subtle ones.

I really hope this business will continue to grow, I love this place, so much potential and kindness.

Best of luck!

I get that laminated, croissant-type dough is very hard to mimic in vegan food, but the pastry had lost most of its flaky layers and was pretty heavy and gummy. I wouldn't go for pastries again but would definitely try other desserts and sandwiches, which all looked great!

First time stopping in and the atmosphere, food and tea were amazing. Turtle Power was absolutely delicious with a slight kick, and the Ginger Peach tea hit the spot! Staff was friendly, can’t wait to come back! #Veganuary
