I love this place. The baked good are great and the staff are lovely. However I won’t be back due to an automatic 15% gratuity on my groceries added to every purchase. I understand if I am dining in. But to buy groceries, this is very entitled and ridiculous. Portland already has a higher minimum wage and this is just insulting. If you need to pay your staff more raise your prices
. Our groceries have already gone up as it is. I’m not paying tips on groceries. I hope they review their policy as it is such a shame.

This bread is one of the best I’ve ever had- hands down and I’m comparing to Paris. Amazing.

This review is going to be about BREAD. I have not tried other items on the menu yet.
I've been on a neverending quest to find good bread in local area. Some places I used to like went worse over time or closed down. The casual check on google today made me so, so happy.
One of the loaves we got is the dark rye bread. It is EXACTLY how a rye loaf should be. You can taste the sourdough, the skin is crisp, the inside is *moist*. Perfect amount of holes, without being too dense. And good combination of spices/nuts on top of the crust. What a delight! When you pass by you can actually see the tubs of sourdough through the window.
If you've never liked bread and would like to try what bread actually should taste like, this is the place to go.

You Guys need a better and more efficient service!!!! You are WAYYY TO SLOW to serve people on rush hour. I am sure you can improve because this is crucial to keep your customers happy.

Great food, and friendly and quick service. You'll find out at the register, after you have placed your order, that there is a 15% surcharge on all items on top of the prices listed on their display. Deceptive.

The bakery items here are excellent, and the staff is generally friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning because of the automatic gratuity now being added. I’ve always tipped generously on every order, but forcing customers to tip feels wrong. If staff need higher wages, raise the prices and pay them fairly instead of passing it on as a forced charge.

This might be the best bakery/boulangerie in Portland! The quality of their flour and wood fired baking truly speaks at every bite. We have tried both savory and sweet pastries along with the baguette - all 10/10. What is more, their espresso drinks are phenomenal and true café quality. The staff is very welcoming. All in all it’s a must go bakery in Portland.
