This is a MUST go and please go soon. The tea is amazing and the food is too. They have gluten-free and vegan options! The ambiance is beautiful too so if you can sit and eat there, please do. And talk to the owner if you aren't sure what tea to try. He will figure out the best one for you.

Such a cool unique approach to a tea ceremony! There are some interesting teas to try and based on how you want to feel. The owner was very engaged and friendly. Definitely worth going to experience a relaxed tea ceremony!
If you’re done with the unfriendly customer service that Portland is known for, then go to Taiji Teahouse to have your faith in humanity, and the service industry, restored. Seated in Portland’s Chinatown in the old Red Robe Teahouse location, you’ll find a charming place that serves light meals and the best tea in Downtown. Eric may even be able to spare a moment to sharpen the Chess-oriented part of your mind.

What a beautiful space! You have to stop by Taiji for a sanctuary in the city. Eric is an amazing host for a peaceful and delicious tea experience. There are also some dishes to try with recipes passed down by his grandmother.

Eric was an exceptional host. Based on my discussions with Eric, they are very knowledgable about the smallest details of tea! I decided on & then had a plethora of cups of the 'Wizard's Brow' tea. I believe it is based on the rare Hong Pao tea. Honestly, the tea did not disappoint!! I was surprised that the tea leaves just kept giving batch after batch of wonderful brew for me to study under. I was studying for a couple hours during the chilly winter downtown, and this teahouse was a delightful oasis. After countless steeps, where Eric gracefully kept filling my hot water, and even threw in new tea leaves, & even an Almond Cookie [it was actually one of the best almond cookies I've ever had]. I will definitely be coming back to this oasis for the tea, ambiance, and being spoiled by this awesome place! :-)
