The instagram is fire. Excellent work there…. Food was limited and no substitutions so our kids wouldn’t eat anything on the menu. But there is a pizza place 2 doors down. Unfortunately Punales wouldn’t let us bring the pizza into their restaurant, even though there were absolutely no other customers in the restaurant, so we ordered the punales food to go. The Straight From NY pizza place welcomed us without problem. By the time the tacos and posole was done, at least 30 minutes, the tacos were good, but not $5 each, 30 minute wait, don’t bring other food in our restaurant good. The posole was flavorless, limes, salsa, onions, cabbage, ton of salt needed to taste. If they let our kids eat pizza in their OK restaurant with expensive, OK food, I wouldn’t have written this OK review.

Had a mole , carnitas, and chorizo papa tacos. Tortillas from scratch.. Super good! Mango Margarita very good as well.. I’m from WA … so far best Mexican place I’ve been to in Portland!
And the customer service was great.. told me they specialized in tacos and they are also dog friendly! 5 stars fa sho!

Excellent food! We enjoyed going to this restaurant. We ordered Menudo and let me describe it, it was the best one I ever ate before. We ordered the tacos and again they were just well served, beyond my expectations. We will be back to continue enjoying the menu.

The best pozole verde I’ve ever had, and I love their housemade tortillas and chips. This is one of my favorite spots — food is always delicious, atmosphere is fun and colorful, and the staff is so kind and welcoming.

Not only is the atmosphere dialed in with authentic meets urban Portland, but the customer service is personable, kind plus character 😎 He took the time to explain features of the menu and what they included. The FOOD OMG!! Chilaquiles verdes were to die for 😍 and the Michillada's exquisite (for those of you who don't know, this is a red beer on steriods) 👌They played 90's music that Sunday morning and some Mariah Carey! As well as regionally specific tunes. This is one place that definitely puts Portland on the map for Authentic Mexican food!!! My Mexican boyfriend from LA even said "This is the closest I've tasted to home in both Washington and Oregon."
Kid-friendliness: They play music and is somewhat loud so I think kids could join :) plus there's a cookie shop next door!
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes for tables outside. Not sure about inside. No steps. Not sure if there is a lip or not to cross. Don't think there is a ramp. Call them to ask.
The truth is that I went because it was recommended to me and the truth is that I ate the food because it was not thrown away, it was not there. What I sincerely expected was my first time and my last time to go!! That's in the food, the fresh waters are terrible, too much sugar, a taste that really doesn't look like fresh waters. I really don't like to speak badly about the food. I have my two children and they eat everything and it's the first time they said it's something they don't. It has no flavor at all, we bought a Menudo and it was pure water!! excuse me

Great taco fillings, tortillas were a bit raw, salsas were good, hated that most tables were “reserved” even though no one was there. About $5 per taco, I’d start with 4 before ordering more. They are more filling than they look.
