Upon first walking into this place you're placed in a weird interim area where they have placed plastic folding tables to keep people from going into the dining area?I rang the bell to get service and someone came somewhat promptly. Sat me and shortly asked if I was ready. I wasn't, which there was no issue with.I asked when ordering if I could get some food for my friends to go once im done. She insisted I order it now so she that I could pay and she could cook the food. Slightly inconvenient for me, as I was planning on texting them and asking what they wanted. But it was mostly fine honestly and I get it. So I just got them 3 things that looked good on the menu.My food arrives and noticeably it is very, very watery. There is still some decent spices kicking around in there but just awful meat and vegetable quality. Seriously really bad.I continue my meal and cannot help but overhear the only other customer in the place having a very bizarre issue. She isn't being allowed to use the bathroom until she pays for the meal. Clearly this is because the only lady in the store is back there helping with the food if not cooking it entirely herself. She gives her card over expecting to be able to use the restroom, but now has to deal with the payment. Eventually it gets sorted.Overall I just got really weird vibes and treated nor very hospitably. I don't think the lady was that personally rude. Just insanely understaffed. Again, the food was really bad quality as well. Super dry chicken, really watery curry. Not worth going to.

I love Thai and I’m not super picky but this was really bad. The lettuce in my spring rolls didn’t seem fresh as there were bits that were browning. Also the pad Thai tasted burnt and was super dry—basically just noodles. The meat was also over cooked. Really disappointed I spent over $20 on this ?

Ordered vegetable Massaman curry. Extremely watery, and a tiny quantity of vegetables for $16. I got maybe 3 pieces of potato, and mostly cabbage. The flavors are good, but I'm severely disappointed by this meal. I see that others also got runny curry, so this isn't a one-off. If you like soupy curry and don't eat much, this might be your place. Otherwise, the other Thai places in the area serve great, filling curry.

Basil fried rice was a bit spicier than expected but still good. The house special curry cut it nicely. The Thai pancake dessert is to die for, you must try it. (And in my opinion is underpriced at $4)

Stopped in for lunch and had Pad See Ew. Some of the tastiest noodles I've ever had in PDX. Home Thai cooking at its best. This will be on my regular lunch rotation.Edit on Sept 26, 2023: I took my roommate to Moonlight and she ordered a curry and couldn't eat it because it was too sweet. My dish of prawns and veggies was wonderful. Serina, (the chef/waiter/owner?) was devastated and forcibly insisted that she will send my roommate home with some of her soup. Now my roommate is a trained chef that worked at a Michelin starred establishment and makes all her chicken stock from scratch. She got home with Sarina's glass noodle soup and was blown away. I mean she hasn't stopped talking about the flavor and the balance for two days now.So I had left my debit card at Moonlight and had to swing by today and pick it up. I let Serina know how impressed my roommate was and how we both were very impressed on how she defended her cooking. Needless to say, this is now our place to go for Thai. Sarina was unwilling to let someone leave her establishment unsatisfied. She explained why her curry was that way (American pallet and a to go delivery culture.) We suspect that this is a one woman operation and mostly geared to take out. To dine in she moves a table in front so you can access the seating area. If you do dine in, she is very attentive and personable.Anyway, go there and let Sarina know what you want. She will serve you something to make you happy or wrestle to the ground until she can find something that will.

Loved this place. It was quite empty and Serena the owner was on point with service, friendliness and the food was delicious. We had the chicken satay, the spring rolls. Pad Kee Mow (beef) and the Tom yum noodle. Which I ordered as a 2 and it was toooo spicy.Serena took it back and fixed it up smiling the entire time. Refreshing. Definitely will visit again. #hiddengemportland #thaiportland

Stopped in to get a Thai Iced Tea, as I didn't have enough time to order food. I am vegan, so I asked them to switch to coconut milk for me, and it came served in the cute little cup hanger. It is DELICIOUS. Thanks for the cool treat on a hot afternoon. Will definitely be back to try the food very soon!

Kind service, it just not taste very flavorful. We got about 5 different dishes, and none of it was very good. We eat Thai all the time and divided to find another spot but we were pretty disappointed.

Been coming here for years since the last owner, and it’s disappointing to see bad reviews of the current owner. Every time we visit, we always have the best experience. The food is amazing and the owner has always been super sweet. It sucks to read white people’s “bad” experience and try to take away business from a hard working immigrant woman trying to make it here in corporate America.
