Very casual with a large seating area inside or out on the sidewalk. Creative huge sandwiches, salads, burgers. Truly original and creative dishes that will be a real treat. Warning: very large portions so sharing seems prudent. In the wearhouse district.
I was sceptical when my walking tour guide raved about a peanut butter sammie, but I took the plunge and my partner and I ordered the most unholy things on the menu: the spicy Thai with shrimp and the smoking goat. The wait was peppered by cheerful banter from the owner, and the sandwiches were everything we had been told to expect -- which was a surprise! A total immersion in flavour. Fabulous!
Once I found out there was a PB&J restaurant in Portland, I was determined to visit. It's so good. I had the Trypophantastic, which was outstanding. Heck, the bread alone was worth it. You order at a counter and find a table, and it's a small place, so there might be a wait. Friendly staff. Visit the ladies room because the affirmation quote wall deserves a look.
