Went for brunch so it was packed but service was great, food above average. The cocktails were a pleasant surprise and well crafted.

Got the southern scramble and an iced chai and it was delicious. The food is a little pricier than I like but that’s standard in Portland.
Overall a very delicious brunch place and well worth the money.

What the heck happened to their vegan scramble? Used to be soo good now is this very weird definitely non-scramble thing, like strips of chickpea flour cooked. Whyyyyy. Since that was all that I could eat there won't be going again. Bummer! Change your scramble back.

When the kitchen is on point, the Hazel Room has my favorite Eggs Benedict in Portland. The service is usually good, and they have some of the best gluten-free breakfast options around for my wife. I usually get the gluten-free biscuit with my Benedict myself, not because I need to, but just because it's delicious!
(It is a good idea to specify that you want your eggs poached soft, because the kitchen will sometimes overcook them a bit if you don't. You shouldn't need to say it, but like other reviewers, I've had my poached eggs overcooked here too)

On the surface this place should be amazing. The menu makes everything sound delicious. And the presentation of each item and drinks are wonderful.
The food. Just average on all accounts. Eggs Benedict. One egg cooked perfectly. The other the yolk was completely cooked. And so little hollandaise sauce it made the biscuit dry. And the sauce really had no flavor. Sandwich was also just ok. With a ton of mayonnaise. Like dripping.
$5.50 for an iced tea as well. With no refills. Or I should say no refills? Because the waitress never came back.
As mentioned. Very very average overall.

Still grieving their breakfast burrito.
This is some of the best brunch in the city. I used to come here weekly, for their breakfast burrito, and while the rest of their food is amazing, I’m mostly just posting this review to plead with them to bring it back. It’s been years, but I still think about it often; like a long lost lover.
But for real you can’t go wrong with this place, even if they did break my heart.

Food’s okay, asked for the table back after 90 minutes for 3 people. Other better options nearby.
The only unpleasant thing was bumping into someone when I got up from the table to use the restroom. The area is small and my booty is not.
The food was AMAZING! Especially if you are gluten free. How do they get the cardamom french toast so thick? And the flavors *mwah.* I also tried the gluten free eggs Benny and it was very tasty too. Apparently there are yummy gluten free biscuits out there folks, and this is where they are hiding!
Also the location is cool too because there are 2 vintage stores right next door basically. All the staff was very friendly too =^.^=

I had the Bee Gee breakfast and everything was chef’s kiss! The biscuits were savory and full of flavor, and the potatoes with the chicken sauce were the perfect combo. I added a side of the brioche French toast with berry compote—absolutely loved it. To top it off, the mixed berry mimosa was a refreshing and delicious touch. I will definitely be back! If you’re ever in Portland, make sure to stop by The Hazel Room for a top-tier brunch experience.
