An excellent bread pudding, perfectly over easy eggs and crispy bacon. This is a gorgeous breakfast spot, perfect for lovers of wearing cute hats to brunch or reading a book over a cup of tea (y'all, they bring out a timer for steeping here).

Service was honestly terrible. It took almost an hour to get our food and there was pretty much zero communication from the waitress. We had to go find her to ask for drink refills and pretty much the second the food came they dropped off the check trying to get us to leave. I understand that things get busy and kitchens get backed up, but there was just no communication at all. The food was okay but no where near worth waiting an hour for. I had high hopes for this place cause the atmosphere is so cute and cozy but the service and wait time left a lot to be desired.

Great cafe for brunch. A little small but cozy. Nice staff. Our server was attentive for the most part. Coffee & tea was great. Very simple menu. Delicious food. Overall, had great experience but mostly for the very special friend I had the honor to be with.

The initial service was nice, but as soon as we sat down and ordered and got our drinks, no one came back out. It’s been over 45 minutes and we’re still still waiting for fruit cups as I write this review. I’ve seen several staff members peek outside at us then look away. It’s the lack of communication that is frustrating.

Food was quite good. We had biscuits and gravy, Bee Gee breakfast, poutine and vegetarian burrito. Very tasty. The wait was ridiculously long even for Portland. The other sticking point was their prices. Very overpriced. The food was good, not revolutionary and there are no free refills on beverages. So, meaning we were charged $4.75 for each drink and refill. So in all we spent $150 for breakfast for four people. It’s an old house with old furniture and old tableware. If the pricing were more in line with what people were receiving, we would come much more often. But we wish them well.

If you are a foodie and love all around quality in food, atmosphere and service this is the place you will come to frequent time and time again. It is clear the owner and staff work in unison. For us, it’s the perfect place to start the day.Dietary restrictions: Gluten intolerance is a high priority here and great effort is taken to be gluten free.

Food, coffee, and tea were all absolutely delicious! It did seem like the staff were overwhelmed as they kept forgetting things like parts of our dishes, sugar for the coffee, etc. I noticed they did the same for the table next to us, so it must have been a busy morning. Really enjoyed the simplicity of the menu, as well as how many gf and vegan options were provided. They've done a fantastic job with this place, and I'll definitely be back for more!

For a decade now (!!!) this has by far been my favorite small brunch place. Great coffee, wonderful vegetarian options (vegan too), and fantastic service. If you can get a table outside on a nice day, it's an even extra lovely dining experience.

Great gluten-free and vegetarian options. This place was excellent for a nice, cozy brunch along historic Hawthorne. The coconut, Filbert toast was delicious with perfectly cooked eggs and bacon. My partner had the biscuit breakfast and loved every bite. The grapefruit mimosa was balanced and fresh. We will be back!
