What a great experience! My hubs and I just did a private cooking class and had the best time! My hubby is the cook in our family, me not to much but we wanted to learn more Mediterranean recipes for health reasons and just for fun and came across Julie’s Merry Kitchen and I’m so glad we did! I had no idea what to expect but turns out we could not have had a better experience. It was fun, super comfortable and made simple. Julie is passionate and so easy to connect with and her place is absolutely adorable! Plus we ended up learning so many new things we never knew before which was pretty cool too. Can’t wait to do it again privately or with a small friend group! This would make a great gift for adults or kids and also be fun to try as a work group. So glad we tried something new!
We had our daughter’s birthday party at The Merry Kitchen, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish! Julie, the owner, was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and responsive, which made planning the party so easy.
The menu options were all fantastic, and we chose a baking menu that the kids absolutely loved. The venue itself is very clean, thoughtfully arranged, and welcoming. There’s a cozy living room area, and the kitchen—where all the cooking and baking happens—is full of beautiful natural light. After baking, the kids enjoyed their creations in a lovely outdoor picnic area.
Julie was patient, kind, and wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate, and I would highly recommend The Merry Kitchen for anyone looking to host a fun and memorable birthday party!
Julie is amazing! She catered to all of my daughter's wishes and created a super fun baking birthday party.
Julie and The Merry Kitchen was a great choice for a 9 year old's birthday party! She was so gracious in accommodating the energetic kids and taught them patiently. All the kids loved making the food and eating it together afterwards. I would highly recommend The Merry Kitchen to anyone who wants a different kind of celebration!
We recently held my daughter’s birthday party here, and it was fantastic. Julie had everything prepared for the kids, from aprons, to hair ties, and copies of the recipes to take home. The experience was seamless, with the kids being able to bake, decorate and enjoy their cupcakes all within 2 hours. I’d recommend you give the Merry Kitchen a visit!
Julie hosted my daughter‘s birthday party yesterday and it was wonderful! She allowed my daughter to choose a menu and guided 6 children to make a delicious lasagna, garlic bread, and roasted broccoli. She taught them quite a few kitchen skills and it was completely hands-on. The kids really enjoyed eating their creations, plus Julie was so sweet and kind! I would highly recommend doing a cooking class or camp with her sometime. It was the best birthday ever!
Thanks, Julie! My daughter had a great time making pot stickers for Chinese New Year! You are kind, patient, and run a tight ship, which isn't easy to do with 7 kids. The home and kitchen environment were so warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!
My daughter has been taking classes with Julie for about 2 years. She totally loves and it and counts down the days between visits! She loves learning to cook and bake alongside kids her age. We recently hosted a sushi class at our home and Julie came with all the needed equipment and made it a great experience for our daughter's group of friends! Finding The Merry Kitchen has been such a gift to us!
My 13 y.o. said this camp was “fire,” which is “the best” in kid-speak. He went in loving cooking and came out loving it even more. He was especially fond of the no-recipes/secret-ingredient element of his camp this summer. He will be back! Such a casual, welcoming environment. Thanks, Julie.
My daughter attended a two day camp here as well as a birthday party in the last month. She very much enjoyed both of them and would like to return for another class in the future!

We have been going to Merry Kitchen classes for years. My daughter loves to learn about food and enjoys showing off her creations. Julie is a wonderful teacher and she is constantly adding new and fun things for the kids to learn. We did the Chopped Camp this summer and the kids are now offering to cook us dinner! Can't recommend enough.
My daughter has taken many classes and camps with The Merry Kitchen and has learned many tricks on how to bake and measure accurately. She has enjoyed many of the different classes and camps and would happily sign up for another one. :)
Been to 2 private cooking classes now with my nieces and mom. We had so much fun, all 4 of us, and the food we made was delicious! Our first class me made chicken tacos, homemade corn tortillas, Spanish rice, and salsa. The last class we made desserts. Baklava, my nieces favorite, whoopie pies, and lemon crinkle cookies. We can not wait to come back! Julie is a wonderful instructor, patient and fun. Definitely recommend, not just for kids but adults too!
my kiddos just took a holiday baking class and are already asking to go back for the summer. Julie is fantastic at working with the kids. the kids love her and the goodies. I highly recommend The Merry Kitchen for anyone with kiddos who are even slightly interested in baking and cooking.
