This was my first time and oh I can't wait to go again!! Perfect batter and cook. Not gummy just a light crisp. I had the halibut and it was delicious. The fries were great too.

Best fish & chips I’ve ever had. I prefer the halibut! And, the Clam Chowder is to die for. They are really nice too.

Overpriced... massively overpriced. Terrible value. The fish was greasy. The fries were not old cold but dry and pasty like they had been sitting for a long time. You'd think they'd make fresh fries when they get old and cold considering the prices they're charging. The food also took a really looooooong time to come out and they weren't that busy.

On the good side, they were friendly and welcoming when they took your order.

What a mistake to eat Fish and chips here today. Flying Fish on Burnside is less expensive and the Fish and chips are delicious. I should have went there!

I hate to do this but the fish was dry it did not taste the same as it did years ago when I first tried it the pieces were really small it was definitely not worth the money that I spent I was so disappointed after driving all the way there to get it even though the owner was really nice he gives great service The atmosphere is really nice the food was just not good it did not have the original batter that it had before it really tasted like frozen fish that was fried I would not recommend it I will not be going back I am very disappointed even the french fries were different It was just not good he really needs to go back to his original recipe get it fixed for your original customers who were there from the beginning because now you have gotten cheap and it is not fair or worth the time to come out there and it is really sad because you're such a nice person with a great attitude I just wish your food was better

The Original Halibuts in NE PDX is seriously the best. It tastes just as fresh (if not more) than the coast. Seriously. The owner and his wife are super nice and they really seem to have THE best freshest halibut, cod, salmon, catfish, coconut shrimp, prawns.. They also make all of their own tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, coleslaw and clam chowder. And they seriously perfect everything! Best clam chowder! Everyone I’ve ever taken there agrees that it’s seriously the best spot for seafood!

Such a great spot. The food is exceptional. The tempura is perfection! Best part? You can grab a beer from the nearby beer barn and wander the food carts while you wait. Great covered, open air, central patio and live music on occasional weekends. This spot never disappoints!

The food is literally divine. The best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Also, it comes with three sauces, which are all super good. I definitely would recommend if you like fish! ?

Eminently friendly couple serving up some fresh, tasty, crispy fried halibut and chips. My wife and I split a 4-piece which, at $40 a basket, we hoped would be enough to fill us up. Thankfully, the halibut pieces were not only massive, they were also tender, flaky, juicy and piping-hot! Among the best in the city, if you ask me!

Additionally, the Piedmont Station food cart pod is probably the most aesthetic in Portland, and has a solid variety of dining options. Although we initially came here to try another cart, which was closed outside of their posted operating hours, their loss is Halibut's gain (and ours)! This is tucked away in a food truck park in Portland. Can be a little sketchy, but we parked across the street and walked around.

The halibut is a must try, but they are weighed and we got 2 pieces which one was more of a nugget. It’s a little pricey, but totally worth it.

They give you a buzzer so as long as you stay in the vicinity, you’ll be able to know when your food is done. My husband and I walked around, got our food and went to the car. We realized they didn’t give us our coconut prawn (store bought). When my husband went back the lady who showed up after we had already ordered our food was really rude to him. Complaining about every little thing and asking why the other gentleman had to give us the food as if we didn’t pay for it. She definitely treated him as if he was just another person looking to get free food. I will note that the gentleman who took our order was personable and very informative.

For this reason, we probably would go back, but if the lady is there, ruuuuunnnnn.

Probably the best fish n chips in portland. Flying fish co took the cake until they switched to rockfish (which is still damn good) but I give the reigns over to the original halibut for not only the best fish n chips but also the best chowder in the whole northwest!! True perfection :)
