The food is decent on a good night. I’ve patroned the bar 6X in as many years for a late night takeout. On average the food is a solid 3 stars. Which isn’t bad for late night bar food. The staff is polite and gracious. While I haven’t sat inside, the vibe seems pretty good too.
Here’s my issue. In the last week I’ve ordered twice and tipped. “Tip the kitchen staff $5 X2”. I ordered onion rings on both orders. Even though I asked if ranch/dipping sauce was included, I was told it was and it was not. My second order included 10 wings. I was told the order was complete, but there’s no ranch or sauce. This isn’t exactly a big deal. However it is disappointing. Considering that this wasn’t a mishap. This is apparently the practice for take out. I tipped $10 on a takeout order. Just give me some darn dipping sauce for my wings and rings, especially considering that I requested to receive what is stated on the menu as “included”.
Lastly. If your tomato soup needs to be heavily watered because you’re out. It should be customary to ask your customers if they still want it. I don’t quite enjoy ordering food before working a 10 hour shift to not actually eat. I threw money and time away. I paid to receive a portion of food that I can’t consume.
In a good faith and support of local business, I won’t give 1 star. But tonight’s experience was exactly that. I’m grouchy from hunger and angry that my next 2 hours of work I’ll be working for money I threw away for inedible food.
The line to order a drink can be long but it moves pretty quickly. The folks there are super friendly.

Sublime food options, starting with their fried chicken sandwich: Juicy chicken. Soft pretzel buns. Well-fried batter that stops just short of being over fried, which makes it perfectly crispy and redolent of thyme and spice.
Their staff is amazing as well, always attentive no matter how busy it is. Their old fashioned with cardamom is great as well as their Bellini. Niche horror and tokusatsu films flicker on several TVs, providing an extra bit of whimsy.

Point break was playing on the side TV, the slap shot was slapping, and the bartender was killing it!! Amazing place to unload, relax, and enjoy your favorite drink of choice! Love this place, will be back!!!

Quirky and fun. Went after a Portland Timbers game because we heard it was where a lot of the fans go. Good beer and interesting television watching.

The vibe is always spot on no matter what time of day you show up! Just people being people. Good drinks, good prices, great food! Also they have some pinball machines as well.

Great place to hangout and enjoy.
Really into their pretzel bun burger + a sassy pony pale ale. Always good people watching people going shopping at TJ’s & neighborhood traffic. Cute spot.
I came to Pharmacy Bar on a whim, and man, this plate of chili fries was a full-blown experience. We’re talking house-made chili, creamy cheese, fresh green onions, and a cold slap of sour cream on top. I asked for a side of spicy aioli and drizzled it on like it was sacred oil—and it took this dish over the top.
This isn’t bar food… this is comfort food engineering at its finest. First photo is the beast in all its glory. Second photo is the aftermath—absolutely obliterated. Not a trace left. That should tell you everything you need to know.
Downtown Portland gem. I’ll be back.

Excellent dive bar on 21st! Great food and beer
food was great, bartender was kind. the drinks were good but a bit pricy imo. still you can’t beat the location or vibe!!
lovely time. lots of good drinks on tap. I had a great cocktail. There was trivia. everyone seemed to be having fun
Food is great sadly some of the bartenders can't control their weed intake and get to high too be work.....OSHA??
I got the grilled cheese with a side salad and it was SO SMALL. It was a good grilled cheese but not worth the $17. And the salad had basically no dressing, just dry lettuce and a kid size sandwich.
