They were out of a lot. Tons of kitchen issues. The chicken fried steak was rubber. The only positive was the waiter was friendly but you could tell the kitchen issues were stressful.

David the bartender and server was excellent. The fries and onion rings are made golden and taste exquisite. We ate and drank here three times, and everything was great. The beer was cold, the water was cold, our server was pleasant, and the music was discreet.

The bartenders I met during my stay at the hotel above were lovely and accommodating, I quite enjoyed speaking with them, was one of the highlights of my stay downtown. I will stay at that hotel again specifically due to how good the customer service was at the bar 🍸😺
Updating my review for my current stay~ Still Five Stars, they have the most wonderful bartenders and kitchen staff! Christopher was an absolute treat to speak with! Such a nice guy, and makes fantastic drinks. Joe also makes an excellent Lemon Drop. Aiden from the kitchen was also very friendly as well, the type of guy I'd love to be friends with. This place is just awesome, and is part of the appeal of the Hotel for me, I've been back twice and I will definitely be back again!

I'm utterly inspired by mornings where energy is reciprocated and Christopher's energy is simply phenomenal. He has a gift for making you feel like family, ensuring everything is just right, not overbearing, and it's been a true delight since we first met him last year. We visit Portland twice a year and he remembered us (us as in a whole cohort from the ELCA theological education for indigenous leaders) from our previous visit, recalling where we were from, it was an absolute joy to see him again. I couldn't wait for him to start his shift today. He's one of the most exceptional waiters I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. The Social Spoon is truly fortunate and blessed to have him on their team. In a region where genuine hospitality can be hard to come by, Christopher stands out as a beacon of warmth and welcome. Growing up in a small town in North Dakota where everyone knows each other, he made me feel like I was home, even in a vast city. The fact that he remembered me today was a heartwarming reminder of the impact one person can have on another's life. It made my day nothing short of beautiful, a true blessing. I believe his schedule is Thursday forward. I’m not sure but get yourself over there. Fill the love the energy that this man has to offer the world. What a beautiful gift he is professional polite, phenomenal memory trust me I can’t remember anybody from last year that I don’t know personally! You will thank me!
