This place committed the simplest crime - their hours are wrong. On Google, on their own website, even on their own door.
This threw off our planning on two separate nights as the hours were different both days, and both were wrong.
It's so incredibly simple for a business owner to keep their hours updated.
I'm more than happy to update this to 5 stars once hours are correct. Do better.

Dolsot bimbimbop was $20 without protein. The taste was underwhelming, especially for the price. They gave me dirty silverware and my dish didn’t come with pickled vegetables.

Extremely overpriced for what you are getting.

It was really quiet when we went in, which might’ve been a hint. The bibimbap was fine, but it’s already nearly 20 dollars without a protein. There wasn’t anything special about the flavor profile, and this was something you could make at home and save a ton of money. For all the food options in Portland, you’re better off going somewhere else.

The food was incredibly delicious. However, it was the staff that really left an impression. I visited with an elderly friend and the staff were kind and attentive to all of our needs. They even provided scissors in case my friend had trouble with his teeth. My friend doesn't eat out often, but he devoured his meal!

A true local gem. A mom and pop shop. A beautiful space where the natural lighting contributes to a vibrant vibe. The food is excellent. The service is better. Have the bibimbap!

This spot is a true hidden gem in downtown Portland, right on the edge of the Pearl District and Uptown. The space is open and airy, filled with natural light from the tall windows, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Our family had an amazing meal—especially the bibimbap and spicy soontofu. The bibimbap was beautifully presented with fresh, house-grown microgreens and perfectly balanced flavors. The soontofu had just the right amount of heat, and the seafood was fresh and tender. I also really enjoyed their kimbap—it was light, flavorful, and satisfying. I’m definitely coming back with friends next time!

Walking into this place you see all the fresh growing plants and herbs in there window seals
The SOOP is always fresh since they grow all their herbs and such in house, which is an amazing thing to see and know
Their menu is small and simple
We got the Fried Chicken soy garlic
Which was amazing the garlic was very potent with the subtle hint of salty from the soy just don't forget to grab napkins~
As for the main dish we ordered the Tteokbokki
Which was nice and chewy with the sauce coating everything was delicious and yummy and most of all flavorful
Also got the kalbi is a Korean marinated short rib which was fantastic and wonderful the flavor of the marinade is definitely worth a try
If you are in the area and want something light simple and tasty and you know it's gonna be fresh
Then come give Soop a try

The owner couple was very generous and the food was very, very good. We enjoyed authentic Korean cuisine on a drizzly April day. Thank you!
