Really solid vegan options - authentic flavors and finesse. We enjoyed the tandoori tofu skewers, the vada pav, and the Ube Kolada which was perfectly balanced and refreshing.
Excellent service too - everyone was super friendly and made us feel at home.

The new Asha is awesome! Everything we got was fantastic. I particularly liked the pork belly skewers and the kale salad. The vibe is awesome as well

Such an amazing new spot for us to enjoy! The tapas are full of flavor you won't experience anywhere else, and every drink we had was perfection. Highly recommend stopping in and trying out this new spot ✨

Sadly they have meat on their menus too- they do not have takeout. We drove 25 minutes thinking they were busy so they couldn’t answer the phone. However, there was only 1 table sat of 2 people. With 4 staff on the floor- while not answering the phone 4 different times, brought us in, it deterred us when they didn’t provide takeout and was very dismissive about the whole thing.
Amazing glow up! I’d been going to The Sudra for years and had loved the vegan food, and I was surprised to see that it’s now called Asha. My partner and I walked in thinking we’d have the usual fare, but we were so impressed by the new atmosphere and amazing craft cocktails! It turned out to be a great date night place.
Love the movies playing, love the friendly staff, decor is on point, and the food is still delicious. Had the chicken tikka masala, the chick’n and noodles and a really great cocktail, can’t remember the name. The kale salad is different than the original, but it’s actually way better. Definitely recommend the roti as well.

I ordered the Thali Plate with tofu paneer & it was delectable! I enjoyed having a little bit of everything but the tofu paneer was definitely my favorite!! My Mom got the Peacock Salad and raved about how yummy it was. Our server was also wonderful and we got to sit outside on a nice day. We also ordered the fried banana ice cream dish to-go (which I'll admit is not the best to-go option!). I was hoping it'd be more like that Mexican dessert that sounds very similar, but we didn't care for the flavors. The chutnies on the ice cream did not go with the flavor of the bananas.

I loved that I found this vegan spot on my last visit to Portland. The restaurant recently went through a change and I’m hoping it works. The food was amazing, the staff were so kind and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I had their Chick’n Pakora Burger and the Ginger Cardamom Cake, 11/10 recommend.

Very delicious. Food is so tasty that you even don’t feel that there is a no animal products inside.
Vegetarian options: Pure vegetarian. I love to go eat because I hate animal cruelty. And we don’t need to kill animals for our survival. They also have feelings and they have right to live.

It was absolutely amazing place. We Loved the food and the service. It’s vegan friendly and very delicious. The dishes were very tasty and big proportion too. Best place to go if you want to try some Indian fusion dishes. The taste was absolutely amazing. Never tasted vegan dishes like these before.

We're not drinkers and Asha is rebranding itself as a cocktail bar so we thought we'd never go here again. Luckily we looked at the menu one more time and found that they had kept a lot of our favorite dishes from Sudra! We love Sudra, very affordable, flavorful and great portions, healthy-ish food. their soy curl anything is delicious! Very cute decor with spacious outdoor seating. We go here after hitting up the sauna place up the street for a relaxing evening. We bike, car parking in this area is a pain in the [censored].

Sudra 28th avenue Portland this location has not only bad customer service, even food is not up to Sudra s standards of the other location.. they serve leftovers….food tastes very stale..especially the drinks taste like they made those drinks from some dirty water ?. plz don’t go there and waste your money.. last time we visited the other location in downtown Portland which is really good..now they closed that location..

Amazing bar with good people and they need business. Vegan Alliance Unite!
The food menu is basically The Sudra, but with a few changes. The Chaat Curry Fries were topped with soy yogurt, tomato, green chutney, and tamarind chutney. They were flavorful, but messy, so I ate them with a fork. The Chick'n Pakora Burger included a crispy pakora-battered Before The Butcher chick'n patty with pickled cabbage, pickled cucumbers, tomato chutney, and green chutney aioli. It was also messy, but tasty.
It’s edible food but it’s not Indian food. The food has almost no flavor and does not resemble the ingredients of food in Indian cuisine. Additionally the roti was like a crumbly, sad tortilla. The server just about dropped our plates down when they arrived and looked bothered that there were customers (we were the only customers in the whole restaurant at 12:30pm on a Friday). The expensive price, lack of service, and subpar ingredients make it a miss in every way.
