Extremely slow service. Waited in line for over 30 min for a drink. The bartender was nice enough though and the drink was strong enough I didn't need another so overall it was a good time.

It is an absolute travesty that this bar is closing at the end of the month.

I love this bar. The atmosphere is very pleasant (inside and outside), they have an extensive list of cocktails and good beers. It is one of very few local bars that I'm aware with a patio that does NOT allow smoking (but smokers can smoke out front just not on the awesome back patio) so it doesn't stink for non-smokers, it's amazing! As far as the food, they have some good options, I enjoy the tofu banh mi and the vegan Mac and cheese ?

The all-vegan bar exudes a warm ambiance at Sweet Hereafter, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The heated patio is an ideal spot for winter gatherings, especially with the wooden picnic tables.Make sure to mix the cauliflower bowl because the tahini sauce balanced well the components of the bowl. Loved the oyster mushroom! It was very filling. I'd recommend the grilled cheese because you can't go wrong ordering it. I wasn't a huge fan of the buffalo sub as the soy curls were too salty from my perspective but I enjoyed the baguette. I was disappointed that there wasn't a compost or recycling bin, so make sure that you minimize your waste!

I'm not very experienced with vegan foods but I enjoyed the food here! Got the Cauliflower Bowl, Grilled Cheese, and Buffalo Sub. The Grilled Cheese was nice and crispy on the outside. As a non-vegan the cheese tasted as good as dairy cheese, and I would totally get it again. I kinda wish it came with tomato soup though...The Cauliflower Bowl was good as well and I enjoyed the bold tahini sauce, as well as the mushrooms. The portion size was also decent and filling. My only complaint that keeps it from 5 stars is the Buffalo Sub was super salty. I had to take small bites and drink 5 liters of water afterwards. It made me feel like Spongebob in that one episode where he dries out from not being in the water.Ambiance was nice and Portlandy, I liked the soft lighting and natural wood. Service was pretty standard. Overall, I would like to go again and try more food&drink.

This is one of my favorite bars and restaurants in PDX, and for good reason. The food is on point. The drinks are creative, interesting, and always delicious. The atmosphere, lighting, decorations are all lovely. All kinds of folks gather here and I feel safe as a queer person hanging out here. The staff that served me tonight were genuinely friendly and I observed them to be very kind and generous with their service to other customers. Not to mention they seem to all be kind to each other, which as a customer who has worked in the service industry, is both notable and something to celebrate. Cherry on top is that they are hosting cute events like poetry gatherings. Sweet Hereafter - love you and stay here forever unduplicated and unbranded in your authentic Portland vibe.

I keep hearing of Sweet Hereafter over the years. I don't know what took me so long to check them out! Well it's not very close to where I live, for one thing. I happen to be house sitting near Laurelhurst Park, and saw that Sweet Hereafter was only half a mile away. It was a cloudy day but not raining, so decided to take a stroll over.Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted warmly. I sat at the bar and perused the menu. Everything looked good, but I settled for the Tofu Banh Mi sandwich. It came with chips and salsa. The salsa was so good and fresh! I asked the brand and learned that it was made in house..has to be some of the best salsa ever! (Except for the one I make at home!) The Banh Mi sandwich was really flavorful too! I will be house sitting for another week and plan to come back soon to try something else on the menu!

The only person who seemed to care we were there was the door security who was so kind to get the door both when we came in and when we left - my friend and I have ADA devices so we appreciated him a great deal.I was glad that I looked at the online menu while waiting for my friend to stand at the bar forever trying to place her order because I am allergic to much of their menu. Apparently they use hefeweizen to make their cheese... and I am allergic to beer! My friend later said I should have asked a bunch of questions to see if I could get alternatives etc... I have friends with genuine, severe celiac and have been poisoned numerous times in Portland thanks to being told specifically it did not contain their allergy source - it just isn't worth it from ho horrible the reaction could be. The person taking orders was completely devoid of friendliness - to the point of extreme discomfort. We had a crazy time trying to get to an event hours before due to a whole lotta traffic. At the event we also thought they would have concessions but it was pretty lacking. My friend was about to start eating the counter because she was that hungry and refused to go elsewhere. She was shouting to me (I was holding our table) as she was trying to order saying that they were out of their burger, and avocado... and other veggies. She said she ordered the grilled cheese and also the mac and cheese because she was told that their grilled cheese was very very small by the bartender. I was going to get the same until I looked up the online menu. I thought maybe I would also see something else and she had taken the printed menu from the table with her to order at the bar. That's when I noticed that the cheese they use for the grilled cheese and the mac and cheese are made with beer. Yikes! Good thing I went to the online menu since I would have totally missed that.I go up to order and requested a ginger ale. The list of items they were out of continued to drinks including that. SERIOUSLY? I tried humor because this really was funny - like, it is a THURSDAY - did I miss the apocalypse? When I said to the bartender that they seemed out of a lot he said they had been busy. Yeah, a bar busy on a Thursday, who knew...I ordered the kale Caesar. I felt assaulted with dressing and their dressing is A LOT. Then they really REALLY add a whole lot of these cheese like crumbles creating a weird gross mouth feel. I feel like maybe if you order this you should ask for them to be easy on the dressing unless you are a person that wants to drink salad dressing on a water boarding level. The croutons were ok but seriously I struggled eating a few bites of this and I had to stop. I was still extremely hungry. My friend was also upset because online and on the menu it said that they have rotating vegan sweets and such. She asked the bartender who was very dismissive to her and acted like she should know that they don't have anything available. She did not know if he meant ever or tonight... He would respond to anything I asked almost rolling his eyes the second I went up there so her description did not surprise me. She is not as upset when folks are rude. I just wanted to leave. The music and the venue itself seemed great - I was digging the playlist and the vibe from the other folks in there was mostly great. I cannot find much purpose in going back though cons

I used to frequent the BnB and loved the consistency and quality of drinks and food. First time at SHA and man that food was lack luster. Tofu was cold and wet, peanut sauce was water, rice was undercooked. Maybe an off day but it was
