If this review was only based off the chicken and waffles it would definitely be getting a 5 stars. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy. The gravy was delicious. The waffles were amazing! They were warm and buttery. Not dry at all! The only thing that was mid was the whole milk latte.

Enjoyed the tasty side of chicken to buffer the delicious waffles we've enjoyed for years. Liege waffles (cake batter with butter and powdered sugar), you can customize ten different ways with savory or sweet toppings.
Lots of people watching, lots of tables and 52 chairs in a medium sized place. 4 bar stools, 10 chairs in the waiting area. COVID style counter service, pick up food from counter, bus your own table.
It's foodie legend in SE Portland, but felt a little faded glory from those summer nights when we'd fight for a parking space in the neighborhood streets and then amazing chocolate strawberry whipped cream treats at the picnic tables.
The coffee espresso latte etc are excellent.
Consider asking for a little less chocolate fudge, one waffle was drowned. service could be better (the plate was loudly bounced off the counter with casual disdain, short straight hair blond lady.)

I love Waffle Window, and I have for years. It always tastes great, and everything seems to be super fresh. Waffles hold up during delivery, which is great!
I am, however, disappointed to have found a whole strand of hair cooked into my waffle this time 😬 I know stuff happens, but it's not fun to find.
I'll still eat here, as I'm sure this is a rare occurrence (it has never happened to me before, as far as I know).

The classic phrase "My disappointment is immeasurable & my day is ruined." comes to mind.
I ordered the chocolate sundae waffle & blackberry basil lemonade.
THE WAFFLE
There seemed to be two incongruent varieties of chocolate syrup applied to the dish, one that coagulated on the ice cream was more to my taste, but I did not care for the one on the waffle itself. The quantity of whipped cream deposited beside the large scoop of ice cream was visually pleasant, but not so much on my tongue. I did not finish it.
THE LEMONADE
I don't understand the reason for the basil, it was unpleasant.
THE RESTAURANT
Largely a nice piece of architecture. There is a large crack in a window facing Hawthorne, it astounds me that it has not been replaced.
THE STAFF
I shall hold my tongue.

Another over rated place in Portland. Well below average taste on basics like waffle, bacon, eggs etc. It tasted like they were reheated and not freshly made. Overpriced for what they are. On top of that, when we arrived at the place, the owner, a very rude Asian lady, yelled at us by trying to park in an open parking space, saying that’s her parking. DO NOT waste your time and money here, this is not a place you wanted to be adventurous.

I have a long history with this place, I've had good experiences and bad experiences, but I keep coming back so there must be something captivating about it. The selection of dishes and toppings are quite impressive, even if the quality of the waffles themselves are somewhat lacking. I have never had a bad meal from this place. This may be a brunch spot, but I recommend coming in as early as possible because the waffles are freshest in the morning. The service has been consistently below average, and the drinks are overpriced.

I hadn't been to waffle window in years! 😄 saw a friend post their waffle and couldn't resist. I get there and the window u normally order from says to "order inside" which is this ghost kitchen called bread and ink. I ordered the cheesecake waffle with strawberries and a side of bacon and eggs to make it a breakfast. 😋 The cheesecake waffle was delicious 🧇🍓 but the bacon was burnt so bad it was inedible and there was a burnt peice of spinach in there that wasn't supposed to be there! 😅 eggs weren't cooked how I asked but the waffle was the main reason I went.

So first off I am from California and came here to visit family in Oregon late night thinking hmmm let’s get a little snack being reviews were pretty good! My expectations were very let down to see (photo below) I have 10yrs of catering experience also food industry and I am familiar with places using premade food and just warm it up and I’m ok with it but this waffle was burnt, hard, dry not that tasteful, tasted as if it had been sitting for a while. I did something very simple a waffle with bacon, the bacon was over cooked and old. Overall regardless of getting ready to close there’s a certain standard I would have thought an establishment would have to continue being great and more positive reviews! I was not able to eat my food because of not seeing it until reaching my destination where I anticipated to eat and enjoy my food. By the time I got there the waffle window would have been closed and I would not have been able to get it remade. I ended up at Wendy’s and only ate the over cooked bacon the waffle wasn’t great to enjoy.

Who puts ice cream with the waffle on a to go order. Ice cream goes in a separate container and then is placed in a freezer until the delivery person arrived.

We've gone here for pick up a few times, the waffles are great. But, the service was terrible during my most recent pick up. There were Asian men, probably delivery drivers since they picked up multiple orders, ahead of me for quite some time waiting for orders that were just sitting there getting cold without someone stopping by and taking like 8 seconds to help them out. I'm also a person of color and saw employees look at us several times, only to ignore us and make us wait while doing not all that much in the meantime. When my white wife does pick up, its always immediate. So, I don't see myself stepping into this restaurant again.

Great place if youd like to try something other than just a plain waffle with syrup. We had the strawberry waffle and the ham and cheesee waffle. Delicious. I ahd my doubts but they did great. Visiting here and that was something I'd recommend you visit. Gal at the front was a huge help since it was the first time and I was a little overwhelmed with the menu but she helped. Thanks
