I’ve had two terrible experiences at the Waypost now. Most recently I was there for the Sumpp show. And frankly I’m disappointed that this bar would host this act. They had a terribly homophobic parody song and I just won’t support a business that gives someone like that a platform.
Before this, one of the bartenders, was extremely invasive about my sexuality and gender. They were drunk on shift. And they made us extremely uncomfortable when they singled us out as our identities.
I’m looking for spaces to exist comfortably, and Waypost ain’t it.

I really recommend the side yard, there's a sweet little trail with seating, it was a really fantastic end to a great evening. Didn't eat there as just had dinner so can't say on that

Can't say much about the food here as I have never tried it but the people who work here are amazing and will take care of you ♥️. I've met the owner and the two who work here and they are great. Amazing conversation every time.

This place is near and dear to my heart. The people that work there are super friendly and interesting, the drinks are good, and they have a ton of fun event nights. They also often have shows by local bands!

Secret little spot. Come for one of the odd music nights or open mike Sundays or trivia or karaoke. 2nd Sundays are Classical Music open mic ($5 donation) where there is professional to (good) high school level musicians playing from solo to quartet from string to flute 2 piano to opera singing. The singers are quite amazing and the piano player was a star.

Love coming here for the margaritas made with house infused tequilas. The outdoor seating is especially nice in good weather.

Epic Portland dive bar. Down to nachos and hard shell tacos for food. Don't come for the food, come for the live music, rooftop balcony, and cheap drafts. Cool staff, huge band space, strong pours. Must stop on the Williams dive bar crawl

The Waypost is a quintessential neighborhood bar. As someone who has lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years I appreciate the cozy and comforting environment that supports local artists of all kinds. The trivia done weekly by at by ShanRocks Trivia has become a weekly staple for my friends & I. If you are looking for a relaxed and casual place to have a drink, see good art or hear some music than the Waypost is a must visit in the neighborhood.
