Make your own bowl with your choice of meat or veggies mixed with rice, black beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, Limon, and avocado.
Tlayuda (Enough for 2)
14 inches crispy corn tortilla topped with Asiento (chicarrón bits) black beans, queso Oaxaca, cabbage, tomatoes, red onions, radish, queso fresco, cilantro, and avocado.
Pipian de Pollo (Green Mole)
Our town's traditional green mole sauce is made with chicken broth, pumpkin seeds, jalapeño, Hierba Santa leaves, and other regional spices. Served with chicken, rice, black beans, and tortillas
Mole Coloradito (Red Mole)
This is a traditional Oaxaca mole sauce. Served on top of chicken with rice and beans on the side.
Mole Amarillo (Yellow Mole)
Yellow mole from Oaxaca. Cooked with chayote, (masa dumplings) and chicken. Served with rice & tortillas on the side

Lovely people, terrific food. Best Oaxaca food in Portland and like a little bit of home, which used to be San Antonio. The horchata is always delicious, the pipian and mole authentic, the macha salsa is my favorite. Anytime I need comfort food, this is where I’m heading!

I have had quesadillas all over the USA and Mexico. The one from Tierra Del Sol is truthfully: 1) The one with the most amount of chicken and it also had the most fresh juicy chicken, and 2) the sauce, side salad, and blue corn soft taco shell were some of the nicest I have enjoyed. I ordered some of their terrific guacamole on the side and set it atop my quesadilla...absolute heaven!

Took a while to get our food but it was well worth the wait and clearly cooked from scratch. We ordered two different mole dishes and found them both to be superb with complex and unique flavor profiles. This is one of the better food carts I have been to in portland and would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a Oaxacan experience.My only recommendation would be to cook the chicken breast a little less.
