I usually don't mind sweet savory dishes but this sandwich was a little bit too much for me. It was still really good and filling
OMG….sando was off the chain. Miso sauce and black garlic are a game changer. The side of fried chicken has amazing flavor with the lemon sauce. Prices are very reasonable. Get there early because they sell out quickly. Easily the most popular food cart there. Service was very friendly. My only gripe is that they don’t sell bottled water. Food is pretty damn good. Outside seating is covered and heated.

10 Sando Stars!!!! Wow. I’ve had some great food in Japan, but nothing quite like this.
Pretty good and authentic Japanese sandwich food truck recommended by some of my friends. Sometimes they run out of ingredients, which limits the menu. The service is minimal and low contact, but I personally like it that way as an introvert, and there are decent covered seats nearby to wait for the food. Prices are fair and you actually get a lot in one order. The miso pork sando is full of delicious flavor.
Parking: The area isn't the nicest but there is paid street parking all around.

The curry egg sandwich was yummy, but dense and strongly flavored. I think it’s a good option to split, and look forward to trying a katsu sandwich. I recommend ordering ahead online so you can skip the line (go up to the side window and let them know you’re picking up) and because things sell out.
There’s street parking for $2 or so, and picnic tables to sit at. It’s not a very kid friendly atmosphere, though children are allowed.

Placed an order online so we were able to skip right past the line, which was already pretty long. The menu is decently sized and had options for anyone. The sandos we received were delicious - fresh, crispy, and filling. Highly recommend!

It's clear that Tokyo Sando is a local favorite as there was a lineup formed well before the food truck had opened. The woman was super friendly and all of their sandwich options looked amazing! I chose the Tokyo Curry as it's not a typical option found on Japanese sando menus, at least where I'm from. It came out crispy, with runny soft boiled eggs and piping hot curry filling just oozing out of it. It was a tasty and filling sandwich however, I could have gone without the deep fried toast as it added an extra heaviness and therefore am knocking off a star. Otherwise it was a solid sandwich and would still highly recommend visiting!
I'm just bummed that I didn't get to make a final stop to try their classic katsu or scotch egg sandos. They're closed on Sundays so make sure you keep this in mind before heading down.

So delicious. Stopped by twice on our trip to Portland. I could not stop thinking about the (Nando chicken) sandwich for the rest of the evening.

We try different food trucks and restaurants every Summer when we visit Portland for a few days. This was a stop that ranks extremely high on our list and now is going to be a permanent stop. This is one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had in my life. We came to this food garden for another stand and decided to give this one a shot too and I am so happy we did. My wife made me get another one to go because it was so good. The service was friendly and fast. I highly recommend this stand to locals and visitors alike.
