Really enjoyed my #6 Shoyu pork bone broth ramen. The pork was nicely cooked, plentiful, and seared, which gave it a nice smokey taste. The fish cake and the nori amongst the other flavors made it a tasty dish. I did order the shrimp shumai as an appetizer, which also tasted great, however, I was underwhelmed due to the portion size. Each shumai was the width of a nickel, whereas I'm used to much taller and wider shumai. The prices were on point and I will be back.
Such great ramen and other Japanese dishes! I've tried basically every ramen they have, half the appetizers, and the chicken katsu, and I've yet to get tired of it. I come here almost every week or every other week with my boyfriend; it's our favorite Ramen place--so cozy and extremely clean every time we've come! We're big Ramen fans and have been to a lot of Ramen spots in the portland area, but Tokyo-ya is the only one we continue to come back to time...
I ordered the miso ramen. The food was fine overall, not the best ramen that I've ever had and certainly not the worst. I was sat quickly and the food came just as quickly. I did ask for an extra egg, and I only received half of that egg. They did refund me for this mistake.
