Brew Dr Teahouse is super yummy. Usually I get an iced chai latte with tapioca pearls. Its super good, but I have ptsd from a certain visit there! My friends and I went there after school one time and when we were drinking our tea, my friend, we'll call her Eloise, noticed an older boy staring at us. I looked at him and asked if we could help him, then he rudely told me to "shut the f**k up". Which was extremely disrespectful so I proceeded to cuss him out and yell at him while my friends ran away to hide. then he biked off and later a girl came over and said she was his friend and that her friend was high on acid. Like wtf. true story!

new vibes with modern look. I prefer the old style at this house . However the teas are still great!

Editing--I loved this place when it was Townshend Tea. Once Brew Dr bought it, everything started to seem corporate. Menu variety dropped, prices went up--it was the loss of a nice, independent tea shop.

Today was my first time here as Brew dr., rather than Townsend 's. Definitely not as good. We ordered boba and while the boba itself was soft and tender, the tea was much too sweet and overall disappointing. The flavors weren't recognizable. My partner 's Thai tea tasted like vanilla and I could not detect the rose flavor in my rose tea.Service was friendly, safe COVID protocols.

Wonderful tea spot in Portland. While walking around in the area, I noticed lots of coffee shops, but not many tea shops. I'm glad we were able to find Brew Dr Teahouse. They had a variety of teas, some caffeinated and some not. There were a couple tables for people to sit and study, read, or just quietly chat. I enjoyed the small break we had just chatting here at this tea house. This is a super fun and cozy spot to chill at when you need a bit of a break from the city!

Ridiculous extended shipping and fees during COVID - even for local customers who are able to place an order remotely and curbside pickup! They refuse to offer this as most others are. Will not be supporting this business moving forward.

The Townsend Tea decor has changed since remodeling the tea house, but the quality and customer service are just as great as before. Brew Dr. Teahouse has been consistent with its selection of great drinks, healing teas, and amazing snacks. The mustard/cheese croissant is my favorite hands down! I have to have one at least once a week and my favorite drink is Roasted Coconut Mate Latte!!!!, but I can't forget the Love blend, which I order when I feel like I need a little lovin' or a hug:). I really do, "Love this Place" and I appreciate the calm soothing environment when I am there:) Thank you Brew Dr. Teahouse for creating an amazing space all around.

Their variety’s of tea is very delicious!! I love it, not so much my wallet . Is this tea somehow worth it yes, yes it is and that Is why I will continue to go there . I miss YOU , Which hurts , but nothing tastes like a lavender milk tea. That’s all I think about , I wish Quarantine was over I miss you babe...

Hurts my heart to write this. I've been going to Townshends for six years. It was a homey, plant- and art-covered haven. The seats were comfortable - important to me because of a physical disability. I have a lot of memories there. I rediscovered my love for tea there. Dr. Brew Tea is now just another minimalist cafe. It has a cool charm worthy of Instagram but feels very impersonal now. The chairs are horrific, and I'm going to be sore for a few days because of the pressure they put on my hips. I'm grateful my favorite tea is still there - at a much higher price now. I was also relieved to see the outdoor space was still available, thankfully hidden away from the ghastly graffiti and sad empty lot next door. Where are the plants? Where is the liveliness? Where is the dark charm? Where is the neighborhood cat who used to visit? This feels so sterile now. And painful. I'll come back, but probably just for my loose leaf. I don't feel at home here anymore.

Good drinks but I wish they still had bulk tea. It was nice to be able to sample a few flavors before committing to a $12+ bag of tea.

The place I loved since I moved to Alberta 13 years ago is gone. Townsend's Alberta Street Teahouse was the warmest, coziest, most special of Townsend's Teahouses. It was a real, unique Portland gem. Not to mention the tea selection was amazing. I've been once since the remodel and won't go back because it was so uncomfortable. The couches were replaced by chairs that are way less comfortable than staying home. The tea selection was reduced to less than the selection in my kitchen. I used to go to Townsend's for that warm cozy welcoming feeling and the exceptional selection. All of that has been removed. If I want that atmosphere now I'm better off staying home. My neighborhood lost a treasure when our long time teahouse was destroyed. RIP Townsend's Alberta Street Teahouse, you are missed.

So disappointed. I've come a few times since the 'remodel'. This used to be a fun spot to hang out in and you could order from a wide variety of teas. I loved that they were open late too. Now there are far fewer teas to choose from, it feels sterile and bland inside and they close at 9. Good bye Townsend's. I will miss you.

Cute and very clean! We got some kombucha and bubble tea to go, would have loved to stay in such cozy place. The kombucha (island mango) is super refreshing! Love their brews. The boba was okay, my friend loved it though so it all worked out.

I'm surprised that a remodel that took as long as this one did ended up so "modern" feeling. I'm honestly not sure if it's good or bad. The downstairs area is nice and I'm glad to see some comfortable chairs down there, but the upstairs doesn't feel as cozy in the same "stick around, relax" way the old place did.

Used to be a fantastic, super cozy tea spot. After the recent renovations it just doesn't have the same cozy and welcoming vibe. Really unfortunate but I still come here for bubble tea.
