the drinks and appetizers are excellent, we had highballs, miso eggplant, cucumbers, and their fried tofu. however, the ramen was not the best. the spicy miso ramen in particular had extremely thick broth, closer to a curry than a broth and wasn’t very flavorful or spicy. overall, the service was amazing and i would come back for appetizers and drinks at the bar!

Amazing drinks, terrible ramen. Sadly, the broth is lacking in flavor and dimension. The broth is on par with a flavor packet and hot water. The noodles are the star, but sadly the broth does the soup no favors and the whole meal falls apart before you even start. Very lackluster protein and veggies in the soup, too.
The appetizers (tofu, eggplant, cucumbers) were so much better than the soup.

Easily one of my favorite Ramen spots in Portland! Ive tried quite a few dishes and have enjoyed every bite. The service is always top notch too.

i’ve had ramen all over portland and in japan and this was some of the most disappointing, flavorless ramen i’ve ever had. VERY overpriced and quite loud in the restaurant

What a complete scam! $5 happy hour half portions of mediocre food disguised as fine dining. Got the Siamin and miso butterfish and one NA milk tea and the bill was $70. We were hungry so we went home and ate. Fish was tasty but literally 3oz of food, saimin was totally bland, and the server didn’t think to mention we weren’t getting anywhere close to enough food. We were told 40 min wait, waited nearly 70 minutes to sit down. Tuesday night.
Would absolutely avoid in the future, nearly every ramen and Hawaiian spot in the city is 5x better food and better deal.

Best ramen in Portland, including amazing broth less ramen. The rest of their menu and their cocktails are also fantastic. Highly recommend!

We went to Toya Ramen to celebrate my friend’s birthday and, unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The food was just okay, but the service was terrible. Our waitress had a really bad attitude with everything we asked for, which made the whole evening uncomfortable instead of special. Definitely not a place I would recommend, especially for a celebration.

Grammable location & atmosphere, but that isn't what I am looking for.
Had black shoyu but didn't finish the broth. It was unfortunately not for me. Chicken flavor was strong and rich, salty. Noodles were only okay. Pork was precious but not what I look for. Was served warm but I prefer hotter. It was pretty but I was left feeling like it left me wanting.
Hard to complain but this was just not the right bowl for me.

This place was fantastic! The ramen was the best I've ever had and the service was phenomenal. Our waiter didn't go 10 minutes without checking on us and was very patient while we looked at the menu as it was mostly in Japanese. Everyone was super kind and Toya is a new favorite for my husband and I.

Best bowl of ramen in town, noodles made in house and absolutely delicious. From the depth of flavor to the texture the entire dish is exquisite, it has a refined and delicate quality that is hard to come by. In addition the service is wonderful, staff is super friendly and there seems to be a genuine passion for the food.
I can’t help but get the feeling that the word hasn’t fully gotten out on this place as I have yet to encounter a crowded evening, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.

This place needs to be reported to the health department!!!!!!! The ramen broth was hot but the meat and egg were cold which I first thought, mmm that’s odd but continued to give it a shot and I regret it. They have the meats and egg just sitting on the counter on some platters when someone orders a soup they pour hot broth over noodles and then they add the pork and egg on top. They’re serving this like a fast food place. It’s overpriced place to have diarrhea. I sat at the bar to observed this.

The miso (vegan consequentially) arguably best vegan ramen in town. I ordered the special which was tonkotsu which was quite good. Noodles made in house in a fancy machine. Service friendly and area well lit.
