First time going today, it was really good and greatly seasoned. Some of the best fries I’ve ever had. Very welcoming and kind service, would love to return back to venture into the menu more.

This place was amazing! Not only was the food bomb but the customer service was top tier. We were visiting from out of town and got there early. They let us come in 15 min before opening so we could get out the rain and cold. I’ll definitely be back when in Oregon again.

Amazing chicken! This is the fried chicken you've been looking for on the west coast. Flavor is amazing and cooked to perfection. And you want the mac that tastes like the south? ...look no further. Servings are huge. You need this in your life.

The food was amazing! If you visit Downtown Portland, you must try Trap Kitchen.?? It's worth mentioning, if you aren't familiar with the area, it's across from the Star Theater on 6th & Burnside Ave. My daughter had Chicken & Shrimp w/lemon pepper fries, I had Chicken Wings w/yams & greens, and we ordered Catfish w/mac & greens to go. We enjoyed our food and the excellent customer service Donte' extended to us. We will visit again.?

Honestly, every time I come to Portland this is my place to go!! Top-of-the-line quality food! I haven't tried everything yet, but so far I get something new every time! I recommend getting the pineapple teriyaki with all the meats! And there's like a plate where they mix food together that's also a must!! Witch are these pictures Their service is amazing. I've been a fan of them since they first popped up on YouTube. Last but not least the environment is such a cool vibe.

Visiting from Virginia! Giving this place a 5/5 really just based off food alone, but I was a little annoyed at some minor things. I'll get to that later in the review. I got a carry out order of the drunken garlic noodles with lamb and shrimp and it was AMAZING! I'd like to add that I didn't even start eating my meal until an hour after I got it and it was still really good. I can only imagine how it would've tasted if I had eaten it right when I got it. Now here are some of the minor things I was annoyed with : I didn't know this place was located inside of a theatre or musical venue of some sort (I guess they recently moved?), but apparently there was a Macklemore concert happening the same day. There was a line of at least 250+ people that was literally wrapped around two blocks. My friend and I were a little intimidated coming up to the place, because we were thinking it was the line just for Trap Kitchen. Luckily, it wasn't, however, the guard at the door still tried to tell us we had to wait in the Macklemore line even if we were just getting food (we obviously didn't listen to him and just went to get our food). There's seems to be no separate line for the restaurant and the venue itself, so I definitely recommend them having a better system on nights of concerts. Additionally, the waitress/cashier was nice but she wasn't really knowledgeable about the menu so I think that could be a learning opportunity. Nonetheless, cool place with amazing food!

I just moved to Portland 2 months ago from Chicago, and almost every week I've gone by the Trap Kitchen seeing a line almost wrapping around the entire block, so you know I had to find out what all the commotion was about. Especially considering these lines were seen at ALL hours of the day. I was able to catch the place when they had just opened for lunch on a Wednesday, and thankfully no line. I was recommended the Pineapple Bowl which I was told was their most popular item. After getting home with it, from the first bite I knew why it was such a popular thing. Like a literal flavor explosion in my mouth! Am definitely going to have to go back with a couple of friends on their more busier times so I can get the full experience, which is why I could only give it 4 stars for atmosphere. But I highly recommend this if you're visiting, well worth the line if you do have to wait! A little pricey, but I've also paid alot more for worse food.

I didn't know I missed kool aid, so thank you. Sometimes comfort food is food for your soul. Soul food is just home food. It's a nice spot, the man behind the counter was just down right nice and friendly to make it a great experience. This place deserves more love from everyone in Portland. I'm not even mad at how much breading there was because it's exactly what I wanted. The syrup and hot sauce on a chicken that tears apart like butter, something about that nostalgic taste you can't beat. The prices are a bit steep, but it is what it is. Good portion at least, and good taste. I'll be back to try more.

Absolutely IN LOVE with this place. My favorite part about visiting Portland for sure. I ended up ordering the catfish poboy with a side of lemon fries. And for a drink I got the trap lemonade which comes in different flavors so I mixed together kiwi and passionfruit. My tastebuds were dancing y'all! The inside of the restaurant was also pretty lively, I think they do events every now and then which would probably be cool to check out but since I was visiting Portland for the day, I didn't get the chance to stick around. There's street parking available which you can pay for on the app. I would recommend if you're getting food to go, to give yourself at least 30-45 minutes because it did take a little long to get my food. But honestly it was worth the wait.
