Everything was just ok. For some reason, the burger patty was way over the dimensions of the bun? Sort of hard to eat, it all fell apart after a few bites. Onion rings were overcooked and sort of hard, but the fries and sauces were good. Drinks were tasty, and the atmosphere is nice if you don’t mind some louder music. The service was a bit of an issue. Our server was not very attentive, and she looked annoyed when we tried to ask questions about the menu and when we mentioned...
I’m proud of our neighborhood bar and all the national recognition it is getting, but I want to ask, “did the buns change in the last year.” They seem bigger and too bready. A smash burger should be compressible and soak up the grease and almost falling apart. This is the topic of endless speculation amongst others in the area.
Any pork tenderloin sandwich is damned near impossible to find in Portland, OR, but I thought a good one was absolutely a fantasy.
I am at the Tulip Shop Tavern in Portland, Oregon.
There have been various iterations of the BPT around here over the years, but they were all but obliterated by the pandemic.
But, the cream has risen to the top.
This place has a not huge, but reliably 1/4 inch pounded pork loin. I didn't know what seasonings...
