We LOVED IT - we were always passing by this store and one day decided to walk it- they make food super fast and its fresh and delicious - totally reasonable prices - nice seating - not crowded and not alot of people - such a hidden jewel 😍. We will deff be back again

Very disappointed in Uchu. It's one of my family's favorite restaurants in town. Tonight we went there for my wife's birthday dinner. We had made a reservation but when we got there the host/hostess was extremely rude. They told us they don't do reservations, even though they were able to locate it in their system and said they had cancelled it (without notifying anyone).

We love sitting in front of the aquarium, watching all the creatures and grabbing a bite here. We stopped in last night for our third time in, and the Energy roll was delicious, some of the freshest sushi I’d ever had tbh. It was a good night at Uchu!
One time, the owner chatted us up about how he grows the coral in the tank himself. Great menu here, would recommend stopping in.

GO DOWN THE STREET TO SAMURAI FOR WAY BETTER SUSHI, VIBES & SERVICE! — Raven is AMAZING, they won’t racially profile you & had no issue serving us our drinks with our shots as we deserved ! I’m kind of glad I had such a trrrible experience at UCHU or I would have never stumbled upon*** SAMARAI**
My friends and I .. a respectful group of nursing students (including a Mexican man, an African woman, and myself, an African American woman) experienced racial profiling, condescension, and false claims about OLCC law at this establishment on Juneteenth.
We ordered three shots.. the server rudely said , so 1 shot ?? Because one of my friend who didn’t have his ID & also he didn’t try to order anything. She just made assumptions which was so awkward!!! The bartender falsely claimed it was “OLCC law” that only one person could order a shot at a time, which is completely untrue. As someone who has bartended in Oregon and knows the OLCC regulations, I called that out — and also called out the fact that we were clearly being racially profiled.
Rather than correcting the lie or de-escalating, the bartender and server spoke to us in a condescending and nasty tone, then refused to serve us altogether, despite us being calm and respectful. The server was immediately weird and tense from the start — the tone shifted the moment we walked in. We were treated with suspicion and hostility that had nothing to do with our behavior and everything to do with how we looked.
On Juneteenth, of all days, this kind of disrespect and racial bias is especially painful. We are nursing students who work hard to uplift our communities — and we deserve to be treated with dignity, not suspicion.
I will be filing formal complaints with both the OLCC and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). This was not just bad service — it was intentional, discriminatory, and based on a lie.
If you believe in fairness, professionalism, or human decency, I suggest you take your business elsewhere.

One of the most beautiful and amazing sushi restaurants I have ever stepped foot into! 1000 gallon reef tank that will make your jaw drop! The owner is an amazing guy and his restaurant is a reflection of him! Thanks you Uchu I highly recommend this experience!

I've been eating Sushi my whole life since I was very young, so I am extremely perceptive when it comes to discerning high quality and fresh sushi. UCHU sushi on Mississippi is by far one of my favorite sushi spots in Portland! The food is fresh, high quality. The service is also excellent and friendly. However my favorite thing about UCHU Sushi is that I can enjoy Sushi with my 2 dogs because they have an outdoor seating patio. 5 stars all the way with this place. It's not stuffy, and the prices are reasonable.

Ordered the eggplant role (Nasuyaki) and the Garden Roll. The Nasuyaki was quite disappointing but the garden roll was better. The Wasabi and ginger were definitely not fresh and it took 20 mins for each roll of Sushi. Pretty disappointed with this place.
