It's small. The food is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE and the bartender didn't even MIX the drinks. OMG what a s$&* show!!! I am SHOCKED that they would be a venue where weddings happen. The black walls made it seem dark and small. I'm not sure WHAT our PTO saw in this space but I did not have the same vision. Location is the only good thing going for it. Location location location. But we had a 90's GALA there, and y'all this place was stuck in the 90's everywhere from the decor to the uniformed staff. It was small. We had less than 100 people and it seemed busy so I don't know how they accommodate more than that. I also don't know where the photos came from online because it did NOT look anything like that. Okay so that's looks...taste. AWFUL!!! We were told we would receive a "plated" vegan meal. What we got was a "buffet..." "Wood fired vegetable medley" which was ICE COLD squash, zucchini, onions and red bell pepper. It wasn't even cooked. It was crunchy. NOT good. And our vegan "main" was unseasoned acorn squash covered in quinoa. Nothing had flavor. Our friend's had the chicken and mashed potatoes and said it was terrible. I figured that at the very least they couldn't screw up basic cocktails. WRONG. I ordered an Old Fashioned and she put all the ingredients into a glass, added ice and an orange wedge and handed it to me. O....kayyyyyyy...Well I was there to support our school but goodness was this a TERRIBLE and depressing spot. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Beautiful setup, very versatile space. Built in sound system and lighting are currently inoperable. No communication of this crucial information to the hostess or DJ until after event was already under way. Owner disclosed that the sound guy that's usually there just hooks up an iPod to some little speakers. ? Hostess was also told to shut down her party early because if she wanted to use the venue later than 10pm she was supposed to have told the owner 24 hours in advance. I imagine it could be an amazing place to work with and enjoy events if under better management in the future.

We hosted a rehearsal dinner at Urban Studio. From start to finish it was a pleasure working with Natalia and Ashley, The space was great and the food was fantastic. All of our guests had a great time and raved about the food and space.

Pros: In the Pearl district, very neat space with lots of decorating potential and built in barCons: Hosting both ceremony and reception while possible is tricky, expect an hour in the lobby while the space is flipped, if you have over 100 guests I think you’d feel so cramped, windows expose you to the street (no privacy)This space is definitely tiny. I recommend seeing it in person before signing any contracts even if they pressure you to sign because someone else wants your date. Or at least walk by to get a glimpse of the space. I tried so many times to make an appointment to see the space but they are really busy. Once we saw the space we realized it wasn’t possible for our 125 person wedding unless we wanted to be super cramped. No longer going with venue.Another thing to note is once the contract is signed Natalia is no longer a point of contact and all questions had to be directed to Ashley with Pearl catering who manages their space. I was beyond frustrated at their lack of teamwork, instead of being able to ask either person I was constantly being redirected back and forth. I also was told flipping the space from ceremony to reception would take only half n hour but it can be upwards of hour. Your guests would wait in the reception area which is really just a lobby and isn’t that large. I cannot fathom how 130 guests could fit and they can if they are sardines. I’m sure this space is really lovely for a wedding but make sure your guest count is small or go else where. Also be prepared to only communicate on email, it was hard to reach anyone by phone. Maybe just walk by the space before you even think of booking to get a feel for it.

My niece got married at this venue. The food was absolutely amazing! The staff was so attentive and did everything they possibly could to make sure that everyone had a good time. If you want to have a great wedding and meal, I highly recommend this place.

I had the privilege of working at Urban Studio on a styled shoot earlier this year and WOW -- this space is immaculately clean, and has a chic city vibe to it. You're right in the heart of NW Portland, within walking distance of several parking options and fun places to eat (if you're not taking advantage of the ever-fabulous Pearl Catering, of course), and you're guaranteed to have an amazing event at this stylish space.Urban Studio provides all of its events with an excellent canvas to bring to life however they see fit. I cannot wait to work there again -- the possibilities are endless!

Urban Studio is an awesome event space. The entire Urban Studio team are some of the best in the business. It is in a great location that is close to downtown and smack dab right in the Pearl! I am a wedding planner and this space is one I get excited to work in. There is so much versatility in the space, without having to do a whole lot to make your event unique and fresh. You can’t go wrong with Urban Studio!

Great staff, great food, and great entertainment. Parking isn’t always easy but sw Portland sucks for parking.PS watch out for parking tickets, cops down there are some of the worst I’ve encountered for the most part.
