We recently partnered with Verde Cocina to cater our Volunteer Appreciation Party, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented—our volunteers are still talking about it! The staff was attentive, easy to work with, and made the entire process smooth from start to finish. Their care and quality really helped make our event feel special. We’re so grateful for their support and would gladly work with them again. Highly recommend!

We arrived early for our train from Union Station and wanted to get a nice meal nearby before departing early afternoon. I found the spot on Maps and we were very pleasantly surprised by the food and service. We thought we were taking a chance getting Mexican, being from Tucson, but the fare was different but excellent.

The best Mexican food in Portland. Everything blew me away - the marg’s, guac, pico, the carne tacos. Can’t recommend this place enough. I will definitely be back.

Cute place, friendly server, good beer. The chicken fajitas were good but not what l expected - it was pulled chicken in a bowl over veggies and beans rather than grilled strips on a hot iron griddle.

We tried to eat there today. There was only One server ! He was overwhelmed and rude. The food was inedible. Even the kids food was taste less and gross. My dish, the pork was mushy chucks with no flavor to the mole but bitter. I could not eat it . The mac and cheese was bland and stingy. I tasted it and the kids said to me, yuk. The chips cost money, it was a small salad plate with salsa that was nasty. We should have left when I heard the table next to us say they did not like the food at all. I eat vegan many times but this food needs a real chef. We left with out eating and paid alot of money for trash food. Our Grandchildren were so hungry we ended up meeting up with their parents for a real dinner. What a waste of time and money. I hope you pass on this place.

Lovely atmosphere. The food was very sub-par. Ordered breakfast tacos with guacamole. Eggs over cooked, guacamole was just onions tomatoes and avocado, no real flavor. Had tofu that was over cooked. Rice is overly toothy with zero flavor beans.

Pos: horchata is excellent and the AC works great.

Overall do not recommend.

The food was great, not to mention healthier than most comparable options. It was the service that especially impressed me, though; our waiter didn't just do his job well, but went out of his way to help my mother figure out what she liked in mezcals and Scotch whiskies.

The Verde Cocina team catered our June 27, 2025 wedding at Horning's Hideout in North Plains, OR and we highly recommend them. From the planning, in-person tasting in thee Pearl, AND the wedding day - the Verde Cocina team crushed it! Arro was super easy to work with, always there via phone or text if we had questions or needed more info. We were able to provide a delicious, fully vegan, and GF apps/dinner at our wedding, which is exactly what we wanted. It was so good and we had numerous guests echo those positive sentiments. Their team was incredibly hard working in terms of getting the food out on time, along with bussing tables, cutting/plating the desserts, and exceeding every expectation that was set. Thank you, Arro & the Verde Cocina team. We look forward to visiting the restaurant again in the future the next time we're in Portland.

Very good spin on Mexican food. Unique and full of flavor. I've been here many times and tried a variety of dishes. Also seems much healthier Mexican fare.

Came here for a quick lunch, our server made delicious well balanced margaritas. You can tell they care about quality ingredients and the homemade tortillas reminded me of my grandmas! I would highly suggest checking this place out. We were treated very well and will definitely be coming back.

Have been to the portland market location and finally made it to one of the sit down restaurants. Food is good the food hardy and filling and fresh. We appreciate the gluten free. The service was nice and accommodating.

The food was excellent as was the service. There was no air conditioning and it was a hot day, so we sat outside. The outside area was covered, so it was very pleasant, even on the hot day. The benches were a little short in the seat, so I did not sit comfortably. However, the food was so worth a little discomfort; and it may not be a problem for folks with a little less padding on their backside. No one else in my party complained about it. It was an overall truly enjoyable experience.
