Wailua Shave Ice Portland

Very delicious

This place is fantastic. We went to this cute little shopping mall for something else and happened upon Wailua shaved ice and I could
not resist. I saw the ube flavor and was like YES so I ordered it and it was ready not even five minutes later. This thing is gigantic and so yummy omg, I definitely ate the whole thing. The ube foam made it that much better and the toasted coconut flakes were the cherry on top. I had never had Hawaiian shaved ice before (sadly) but now I can say I’m a huge fan if this is the benchmark. I’m so sad I don’t live in Portland because I’d come every week just for this. Thanks so much Wailua, you guys rock!!!

How can shaved ice be so amazing?! It’s like flavored snow in your mouth but a thousand times more delicious! It’s hard to put into words just how incredible this is. The portion sizes are huge, and they even make their purées in-house. They offer vegan flavors too, which I included in a photo with this review.

I’ll just leave it at that—they’re amazing! The girl who works there is so nice and patient. There’s always a steady stream of people getting shaved ice from this spot. I know it’s cold in Portland, but trust me, it’s totally worth it!

Went twice while visiting! Had never had this kind of shaved ice before and was so obsessed! Especially loved the rainbow and the ube- next time I’m in town I’ll try the coconut. Great clearly labeled vegan options!
