Their hours on Google Maps are inaccurate. Then, I showed up at their actual opening hour (5pm) and no lights were on. Waited around for 10 minutes, but still nobody. I'll be back when you're open for $2 tacos!

Good rule of thumb. Don't let anyone, especially employees, smoke a blunt right out front of your door. No matter what time it is, it's bad business. Especially so close to a school, kids at Benson take night classes, they have enough to deal with.

Just finished my food, it was very unseasoned, small portions, and the wait staff was rude and entitled. I should’ve walked out and I regret it now. There was no tomatoes or sour cream, and she didn’t mention that it was an add on.

From poor customer service from staff that talks down to you, to extremely mediocre food. Just go somewhere else. Woman behind the counter seemed like she was looking for a fight. Only saving grace of this place is $2 carnitas tacos. So if you want mediocre tacos for $2, you found your spot

Ok so my mood is definitely coloring my review but I don't care.
Backstory: I had to take my car in to get serviced so I planned to hit up this awesome birria truck on my way to the train. I even brought a thermal lunch box and a hot water bottle to keep it warm on the way. The food truck was not open even though the website said it would be. So I was super bummed out and sulked the whole trip. I got off the train and saw that Xocalo was open so I thought I'd give it a try.
Not only do they have birria breakfast burritos but they also have delicious lattes!!! The staff are so nice and the food is out of this world tasty! The burrito had eggs, cheese, birria and seasoned potatoes! I got the hazelnut latte and it was just the right amount of sweetness.
I went into the restaurant kinda bummed but left in a really good mood. 5 stars for sure!

This place came highly recommend to me and I was disappointed by the service and the food. Though the atmosphere of the restaurant is Very comfortable the Poor customer service , lack of hospitality from the young lady at the counter and made my less than mediocre breakfast tacos taste even worse. I wouldn’t recommend.

Reasonably-priced, extremely OK Mexican takeout served fast by depressingly cold staff.
By all appearances, Xocalo is a stereotypical event center-adjacent non-franchise lunch spot that specializes in churning out volume over quality to capitalize on large, hungry crowds. I’m amazed this place has a 4.7 rating.
I ordered the tamale plate special and a corona at 11:30am on a Wednesday and dined in for $20 w/tip. It was fine. I wouldn’t come back. The rice was crunchy and the tamales were dry and uninspired. Thankfully the Corona was cold.
The cashier was borderline hostile even before a line started forming, but especially after. They were the cherry on top of an impressively underwhelming experience.
There are better options nearby—do yourself a favor and walk 5 minutes down the road for something worthy of your time and money.

It was OK. Green sauce was good. None of the hot sauces were actually spicy. But wasn't the worst. Asada was like ground beef

The tacos here are absolutely delicious. They have a happy hour from 1-4pm with great deals in including $2 carnitas tacos on Fridays. The margaritas are pretty good too. Service is very friendly and prompt. And relax atmosphere if you want to dine in. Highly recommend.
