I'm so disappointed in our trip to Yala. I've been here several times before and the service is incredible. The food is amazing as well and was not the issue we had. Unfortunately, we had a terrible service. The restaurant seemed pretty empty for a Sunday morning, but somehow our server ignored us most of the time. And our needs were very basic and minimal. It seemed like none of the servers seemed very enthusiastic about being there and I'm a little confused as to. How things could be so different compared to previous visits here. The food was amazing as always.

One of our party requires a gluten-free diet and she was totally accommodated - her menu was marked up for her to make appropriate choices and we had very good service all around. Plus everything was DELICIOUS!!

We have been to this restaurant many times. Food is good however staffing is always low/slow. Tonight was exceptionally slow. They were out of the hummus w/burnt tips (so good)!. Took quite a while to receive drinks. They came after the salad was served. We ordered two of the salmons. One was really undercooked so I sent it back. It finally came 10 minutes after we ate all of the other items so we took it home. It will be a while before we go back...

Ambiente and food excellent. Service was good. Was surprised to see 3% charge on my bill for employee health and benefit. That is usually part of the operational cost of the business. If you care about employee's health and benefits, you will leave a tip accordingly - which I always do when receiving good service.

Yalla has everything you need. Bright flavors in their house-smoked pastrami and salads. A delicious rotating seasonal menu to keep things fresh. And possibly the best fried chicken and fries in Portland. My daughter and I eat there regularly and I can't speak highly enough of the staff, both front and back. They are attentive, friendly, and always incredibly consistent. Don't walk past this place, it's the best!

This was our first time at Yalla to celebrate a birthday -- the food was freaking fantastic! Service was stellar too. We sat on the outside deck and it was a bit cold and windy but the food was so good we didn't care.
The food is always delicious, especially the fried chicken and roasted cauliflower. Oh, and do not forget one of the two, hummus with fresh hot pita bread. Will be back next week!

I've never had a dish here that I didn't like, if not love. My group of four got 7 dishes total and it was a perfect amount of food. We had a person with us with mobility issues and the host seated us at a very easy to access table and we had issues whatsoever. Service is great, variety is fun and seasonal.

There was a point when I looked at my wife and she looked at me and we both said something like, "are we seriously eating food THIS good?!" I'm still thinking about that breakfast. I got the pastrami hash and she got something (I will misspell it) like the sharkush royale. The coffee was perfectly fine. The blueberry coffee cake was also perfectly fine. However, those 2 main courses left us thinking this may be the greatest breakfast of our lives. Thank you, Yalla.

Loved loved our experience at Yalla. We ordered a selection of salads, appetizers, a main and a side and shared them all. We ordered predominantly vegetarian dishes, and the tastes and flavors were phenomenal! I really appreciated the incredible service as well. Highly recommend!

Four small plates of food, a hummus appetizer, and a bottle of wine: exactly the right amount for four people to share, all delicious, and at a surprisingly affordable price. I always liked Yalla, but they've taken a step up: I'll be going back soon.
