Always a nice atmosphere and food is tasty.

Not impressed and surprised with the other good reviews. I sat at the bar and it was clear that I wasn't a priority. I never received something that I ordered. The fish is good quality but small portion size for Nigiri sashimi combo. Def a better deal and experience at another local place down the road.

I have experienced sushi from all over the world and this place is phenomenal. I highly recommend the Flaming Jack. It’s just cool when your sushi roll arrives at the table on fire.

DILUTED SOY SAUCE. Our biggest issue was that they serve soy sauce that has clearly been diluted with water. You can barely taste it in your food. They don't give you a small soy sauce bottle, they bring the sauce to you in little bowls. When I requested (twice) to have the soy sauce bottle to be able to serve it myself, the server was reluctant to bring it, and when she finally did, it was not a new one and it was watered down as well.In addition, when eating one of their specials, the salmon sample, we got a very hard piece of salmon, like a nerve, that we could not eat. Both experiences very disappointing based on the prices of this restaurant. We'll not be back.

The salads, appetizers, and sake selection here are amazing, overall a really solid Japanese kitchen. I thought the sushi was pretty good as well but I feel like the California roll dynamic was over used a bit. Otherwise the general vibe and consistency stays constant. The only thing I really didn't like was that as soon as we sat down in under a minute we were asked if we were ready to order which seemed odd to me. And then after ordering our older server, basically was annoyed by any questions I had or was extrenely bothered by the bare minimum of service, her unhappy attitude basically ruined an otherwise good experience. Based on that I didnt feel welcomed enough to consider giving it another shot unless I went for a happy hour or something.

The place is one of the best sushi spots in the area. Huge sake barrels from above really enhanced the atmosphere. Service was amazing compared to other restaurants.Sushi was incredible, fresh, and presented well. The flavor was amazing, and everything complimented each other nicely.Parking: Parking around the area was decent since you had to park on the surrounding streetsKid-friendliness: There are some choices on the menu that kids will enjoy, and the environment is very kid-friendly

Go here. It's amazing. The service was fantastic. We tried 6 different plates ranging from appetizer to sushi to salad. It was all phenomenal. Their whiskey selection is pricey but well cultivated. This is going on my list of favorite restaurants in Portland.

Highly recommend, we’ve been a dozen times. It’s hard to choose between sushi and ramen. So we get both! Ramen is great for lunch the next day ;)The first time we went I was pregnant and I was really impressed by the veggie roll. I’ve been getting it every time since.

First time here, parking is tricky, street parking only, had to park in the neighborhood. Atmosphere was awesome, helped very quickly, love the large selection on the menu. Amazing portions, delicious and full of flavor. Highly recommended, was brought by regulars, and would return. Friendly staff and extremely clean restaurant.Kid-friendliness: We had a child with us and it was fine.

Really love this place. Have been twice the sushi some of the greatest we've gotten in the area and the ramen is delicious and HUGE. Vibes are great, staff is good. Favorites of the two so far are the Kobe roll and kimchi ramen. Shout out to their pork, it melts like butter. Also love all the option ramen toppings they bring to the table

The service seemed a little rush and didn’t seem like they were wanting to be very cordial. Along with atmosphere it seemed stressed and we were tucked into a corner of what seems part of stock room. The food was great though.
